LG F1480TDS 1400RPM 8kg Steam Direct Drive Washing Machine White [Energy Class A+++]

I ordered this washing machine for my daughter as it was considerably cheaper on Amazon than in the big retail shops.The price was right, but the delivery was not up to the normal Amazon standard.All in all it took over 14 days for the item to be delivered, original delivery dates as advised were not adhered to.Apart from the aggravation factor of the time lag in delivery, my daughter reports that the washing machine is a joy, and copes exceptionally well with a high work load. She also advises that the steam function is an ideal programme for refreshing clothes.The machine is faultless, the waiting time a tad less than.

Had my LG for 2 years now was all good at beginning but now the machine thuds and rattles and moves out of position when going into spin mode at end of wash..... have levelled it up more than once can't rock it about stands flat but still wants to move around can't go out and leave a wash as I'm worried it will pull pipes off and flood room......It was fantastic machine at beginning but disappointed now 500 quid wasted I feel.....I've put machine on spin cycle empty and it runs fine but with load in its like a bear trapped in a box......

I must be an unlucky costumer. I bought this washing machine to replace my Hotpoint which was nearly 15 years old and had given me great service before braking down. I had wanted a steam washing machine and the reviews on this one were really good. The washing machine itself is really good with loads of programs to choose from. It is also a nice looking machine with a great size drum. I would really recommend this machine, had I written a review when I bought it. After 11 months and 2 weeks of owning one I would no longer recommend it. One morning I opened the machine to take the laundry out and my kitchen was flooded with water. I thought it was a power cut in the middle of the cycle through the night. Never crossed my mind that such an expensive machine would break before 2 years. But it did. 2 weeks later when I opened the door to put the laundry in, the kitchen was flooded again. I phoned LG and sadly they don't know what they are talking about most of the time, as it is a call centre. They first blamed it on to much use, but when I told them it was just me they blamed it on not being used enough times. How pathetic. The diagnosis through the phone didn't show anything wrong. At this time the machine on paper was 2 years and 2 days old. They would not fix it under the warranty even knowing the machine was delivered to me a month after I purchase it. So in reality it broke down after 11 months of use. 100£ to fix it. The water valve was broken. A broken valve in a machine that worked 3 times a month? How often will this valve going to break? I din't buy it from Amazon. I remember that the retailer I bought it from, at the time, told me that LG always give problems. I didn't believe him as the reviews said otherwise. How I regret it. It was my first LG experience and my last. Thats a promise. Appalling.

This machine really deserves all the praise heaped on it as it's - THAT GOOD !!!However . . . You will still need a dryer because although this machine can get the laundry 97% dry, they are still slightly damp and although a sunny day air on the washing line will have them cupboard dry within about 30 minutes, winter is on its way (14/09/2013) and unless you want damp clothes drying on radiators, get a small dryer to to finish them off.The machine is real quiet in operation and even has silent mode, so you can do your laundry at night if you are a night owl.Yes it's expensive, but it's the best at what it does by a considerable margin.If you want clean clothes without hassle - get one of these, you'll be glad you did.Comes with a free 10 year electrical and mechanical warranty.Even Miele don't offer those.Enough said !!!

I would strongly urge you not to purchase this product. My LG Direct Drive washing machine is barely out of warranty and has been condemned to the scrap heap. There are so many things wrong with it that that it British Gas will not repair it. LG will not/cannot help me so after spending £800 on a washing machine 5 years ago I now have to purchase another. Hmmm, will it be another LG.....NO!

Really quiet and cleans clothes so much better than my old machine. Steam function is great for deeper cleaning or using via the Refresh function for wrinkle free shirts.Can't believe I'd ever get this enthusiastic over a washing machine !!I can't vouch for its reliabilty but it does come with a 2 year warranty.

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED!This is a warning to anyone considering buying an LG washing machine DON'T!I have been trying to have mine repaired for nearly 3 months!!!!!!!!!First it took them over a month to obtain a spare part, but the best part is LG subcontract out their repair work without telling you and then when I tried to book a morning slot to have the engineer come out I was told even though they had no bookings that day if a later booking came closer to their office they would reschedule the appointment to a time more convenient for them!?!?!?! and that I would have to have someone at home between 8am and 6pm!!!!!!!With any another company you can book a 4 hour slot or at very least a morning or afternoon slot.I have tried to discuss this with LG customer service on numerous occasions but each time I have been told 'we will sort it out' they have done nothing and after 1 or 2 weeks I have had to chase them up to find out on 3 separate occasions "sorry it was not acted upon"Eventually they said "it has nothing to do with us" Nothing to do with You!!!!!!!!!! You subcontract the work to these people.It has been a nightmare from start to finish, I will NEVER buy an LG product again and I strongly advise anyone here to do the same it is simply not worth the wasted time and hassle.
