Wrist Guard Gloves - Full Finger

I ride an electric unicycle with high potential for hand and wrist injury. These gloves are just what I was looking for to prevent injuries. The gloves are well made of durable goat skin and double thickness on the fingers the plastic split that prevents hyperextension also includes a palm slider. The glove opens up like a butterfly with 3 Velcro closures, making putting them on easy. I also like the gauntlet that covers well over the wrist. I ordered the large size and they fit good on the palm, but I do have short fingers and the glove fingers are a little long for me, but downsizing to a medium would probably not work for my palm size

I have these to ride an electric unicycle.While taking them out of the packaging they seemed well made. The palm protection is robust as is the wrist backer. So far so good.As soon as I started to put them on it became clear they are much smaller than a normal XL glove. I'm pretty tall, about 6'4", and weigh about 185. My hand is 9" around the knuckles. These XL gloves are tight. I doubt I could get them on if i was wearing a cold weather glove liner, which i why i've not taken them for a spin yet as it's pretty cold today. They will strap up, but just barely. The wrap strap makes it about halfway across the velcro. The other two straps make it about a quarter of the way onto the velcro. I suspect they will stay in place but I do wish the straps were longer.

I recently purchased the Hillbilly wrist guard gloves for riding my EUC, and I’m extremely satisfied with the quality. The materials used feel durable and premium, offering excellent protection for my wrists while riding. The built-in wrist guards provide solid support without being bulky or uncomfortable. The fit is also perfect—snug yet flexible enough to allow a full range of motion. So this is a preliminary review that I will update as I go. This is strictly for product quality and sizing as I have not skated (longboard) with these yet, nor, obviously, have I crashed in them yet. The idea behind these gloves is fantastic. I like the thought of having a full glove to protect my hands from road rash, combined with wrist protection. The execution of the gloves is mediocre on first blush. They are made in Pakistan, and the construction quality shows that. Out of the box I have a seam along my left thumb that isn't fully sewn, leaving a quarter inch hole, and the thumb on the left glove is slightly twisted to the inside (palm) side so that the seam that should run down the outside of the thumb ends up on top of my thumb nail. It isn't a huge deal, but it's a bit uncomfortable and indicative of the poor construction. The leather seems to be of decent quality and I I'm fairly confident that they'll protect me. But, that being said, the leather just has a cheap look to it and it's definitely not top quality. There are plastic splints on the palm side as well as the back side of the hand. The gloves are secured by three straps, one of which completely wraps the wrist right at the joint. It seems to be a good setup and it is possible to cinch them down and secure your wrist quite firmly in them. The palm split is bowed in a way that creates a gap, maybe a half inch, between the back of the splint and the heal of your palm. Essentially the gap will create a cushion space that will absorb some impact prior to the splint contacting the palm. I'm pretty stoked about this assuming the leather on the glove is strong enough to support the flex of the splint and not just fail, allowing the splint to tear out instead of flex. It won't be long before I crash in them I'm sure and I'll report back on the results.Now to discuss fit. I got the gloves in large. The ridiculous sizing guide goes only by the length of the fingers, which is stupid. It in no way accounts for the bulk of your hand and wrist. The guide states to measure you middle finger from the web to the tip. I measured the middle finger on my left hand, which is slightly larger than my right hand and got a measurement of 3 1/4 inches. Incidentally, my right middle finger is also 3 1/4 inches even though the overall size of my right hand is just a bit smaller. The guide states: "L= 3 - 3.5 inches" so I went with large. The gloves fit tightly, almost skin tight. I'm ok with that because, as most of us know leather will stretch as it's used. The glove on my right hand is going to end up being perfect while the glove on my left hand is a bit uncomfortable as it is now. All of my fingers hit the end of the finger pockets in both gloves. Each of the straps on both gloves would be better with about another 1/2 inch of length.So that you guys have a bit more to work with, here are the measurements for my right hand: Knuckle circumference: 9 3/4 inches, wrist circumference at the joint: 8 1/4 inches. Length from the wrist joint to the tip of my middle finger (palm side): 9 1/8 inches. Hopefully that will help.I've treated both gloves with a high quality leather conditioner and hopefully they'll stretch just right with use. Overall, I'm ok with the quality of the gloves and I'm pretty confident that they'll work for me. But, for the life of me, I can't figure out why a company would be ok putting their name on a glove like this and holding it out as their product, when it doesn't seem like it would be too much harder to execute these with really top quality components. And do it somewhere where they know how to properly construct gloves. I would happily pay $100 for a pair of these if they were executed in top notch materials and constructed in a quality manner.**Update** - 09-27-13 - Alright, so I've finally taken my first hard, out-the-front superman style bail. I tried to go out on my knee pads and slide it out, but I couldn't get my weight back far enough in time to hold the slide. I hit knee pads first and then down HARD on my hands. Slid about four feet (on my hands and knees) on sidewalk cement before hitting grass and rolling out. The gloves took the hit and performed flawlessly. The pinky finger on my left hand rolled under during the slide and the cement wore through the soft glove material on the middle knuckle leaving me a 1/2 inch patch of road rash on the knuckle. That's it, my only injury from what would have otherwise been a bitch of a crash injury wise. Both wrists were sore for about five minutes after the impact from the topside split bearing down and holding the pressure of impact. The morning after, as I type this, I'm totally fine as if I'd not crashed at all except for the tiny rash on my pinky. Without question, these gloves saved my hands and wrists from injury. The spoon on the right glove took the brunt of the slide and is worn about a third of the way through. I have no doubt I could take another two or three bails identical to this one before I'll have to buy new gloves. I'm very pleased with the protection these gave me and can recommend them without reservation. As for the size, it hasn't changed much from stretching and I'll go with XL next time.

That one review with the black hands was a big turnoff for me, but I noticed that a lot of the recent reviews did not complain about this so I decided to take a chance. There are not a whole lot of full fingered wrist guards out there so my options were limited. I am happy to report that after several uses, my hands are not dyed black!Sizing was a bit weird. By measuring my hands as instructed, the chart put me between L and XL. However, I have really long, skinny fingers so decided to size down a bit. I also wear a size L in most other gloves, such as Mechanix and generic Harbor Freight gloves. They were a perfect fit and I am pretty sure XL would have been too loose around the fingers and wrists.Protection with the full fingers has been great and I have put down my hands a few times on pavement and dirt. Nothing serious, but I am confident these guards will do their job in a big spill *knock knock*. I work with my hands on the computer for a living so why take a chance on less protection? The only downside I can think of with full finger is it makes it a pain to use your phone. To fix that, I plan to sew in a couple dots of conductive thread in the index finger and thumb.Durability has yet to be established but so far so good.

Pretty badly made. The index finger in the right glove I received is longer than the left. Thumbs very tight. Overall cheap feel and look.

Very well made and actually shocking for the money. They are heavy built so warm as leather is generous and nothing is thin. In 🇨🇦 Will have a long season but won’t wear in 25c and up. Protection is as good as any and being built in the whole Hand holds the palm guard in place better than any.Size, large is a large. Maybe a little tighter in the palm but I have a wide palm and large can fit like that. A medium would be too tight. Also they will stretch with the leather and fabric.No dye transfer and don’t think that’s an issue if wet but I don’t really ride in the rain. I ride it on my EUC as run at 60kph and up. On my Onewheel only on group rides as seems to be a bit of a dummy on those. Haha

Based on the measurements in this product's description, I ordered the large. Although the finger length was good (even a bit too long), the straps around the wrist are far too short - the velcro barely catches.I thought of returning these and ordering the extra large, but that would likely only make the fingers longer (and they are a bit too long already).These gloves aren't as comfortable as others I have tried.Also, the fingers don't have a section of cloth on the finger tips that most other gloves have that allow it to interact with a touch screen phone - these can't be used with a phone.
