I never knew.....I was watching Americas Tesk Kitchen and they recommended a more updated version of this bread knife...I went to look at that bread knife and Amazon told me i already have this version. This knife is durable, had it for 3 years now, and i use a honing knife to sharpen the serrations.First time out of the box it cut me... that was the last knife ive cut my skin with...I great value for the cost.

This is a great bread knife. I followed the recommendations of America’s Test Kitchen (ATK) to buy this, and have not been disappointed at all. In the ATK bread knife comparison, this was not only chosen as number one, but was the least expensive knife. I cut a large sourdough boule (big ground loaf) with both my Henkels bread knife and this new knife, and there was no comparison. This knife cut through the loaf so easily. The other bread knife required quite a bit of strong arming. The fact that this knife is a little bit longer than a regular bread knife, appears to have the perfect number of scallops in the blade, and has an offset handle, makes a huge difference.

Great 10” bread knife. I suffered for years with a bad bread knife and didn’t even know it. I started making sourdough bread and was hoping for something better. I searched for reviews on good bread knives and this one came up as a favorite. It is a heavy, sturdy knife with a nice serrated blade. It makes a huge difference when cutting bread. Highly recommend.

OMG. My relationship to crusty sourdough bread, which was problematic before, is totally renewed. This knife is amazing!

If you make artisan bread, sourdough, and the like GET. THIS. KNIFE.!!! It is a game changer when it comes to slicing those crusty breads. No more sawing your loaves, ripping the bread apart ... this thing just glides right thru it and makes it enjoyable to cut. And for $22 I give it 2 thumbs up (I gave it a try because America's Test Kitchen said it was good, and it really is!)

I bought this for a sourdough bread knife, as my kitchen knives weren't up for the heavier crust. Excellent bread knife and general kitchen knife. I'm very satisfied, so far. My only caution is that it tends to curve left, as do most wavy-serrated blade knives, when cutting hard produce like pumpkins or squash, so keep your fingers out of the way! Some reviews say it stays sharp longer than many rivals. I reserve the right to change my review after I see how long it stays sharp!

Great knife for breads or meats.
