Mouldmaster Veneer Wood, 250g

Bought these for some crafting!Loads of sheets and the colour variation / selection is amazing including blue and green. Thickness is perfect. Can’t wait to get working.

I liked both the amount and the variety of woods, as well as the actual size of the veneers which were large.You have to handle them with care, however, as -- unlike Eighteenth Century veneers which were an eighth of an inch thick -- these are little thicker than a sheet of 100 gsm paper.

The packet contained a great selection of veneers, some prettier than others. My pack was a little heavy on the lighter woods, but this made no difference to me as I just wanted to play around with them.I would have really liked it the packet included some kind of list of which woods were included as not everybody can identify wood by sight, and some of the veneer sheets were about twice as thick as others, which limited how I could use them for my project.That said, it was a great price for a wide selection. And one of them matches the black walnut veneer of an old desk I thrifted, so I have tucked it to one side in case it ever needs patching up.

A piece of veneer for everything

Generally happy with the different woods, but it would have been used to know what the various species were. It’s my first attempt at marquetry and I’m a bit disappointed with trying to capture a lifelike rendition of my cockatoo.
