David and Bathsheba

Wow! This author so WISELY dealt with so many heart issues in this book! I absolutely LOVED it. It dealt with self-righteousness and GRACE. The repercussions of unforgiveness and FORGIVENESS. It illuminated the love, forgiveness, mercy and covering of God when we come to Him with true repentance. It dealt with sin and it's affects and that the LOVE OF GOD it yet STRONGER! You must read it for yourself.Loved, Loved, Loved it!!!!!! The best novel on David and Bathsheba I have read so far!!!

This book made the story come alive,while keeping close tothe Biblical account.She just fleshed it out wonderfully.It waslike I was really there.Loved it.I just ordered 3 more of her books. Can't wait to read them.Tuffy...........Buy this one

GREAT BOOK. GOT IT AS A GIFT AND THEY LOVED IT.

Dorr brilliantly merges reality with folklore as she tells the story of the two great lovers of the Biblical era. The story tells of the darkest sin: lust, desire, adultery, murder, and judgement. Their home was rent by the effects of their sin, and they were never able to fully mend it. I found her Bible knowledge a bit lacking because she presented the story facts that has many inconsistencies with the Bible She states them differently, and it sent me searching the Bible for what it states. After all is said and done I give this a five star rating. After all it is not suppose to be a complete factsation but written as a fiction. Therefore I say, "More Dorr".: )

I would say overall it was an enjoyable book. I think my problem was that 50-75% of the way through the book I'd reached what I thought filled in all the blanks. After that it was hard to get through as I felt the "happy ever after" point had kind of passed. That being said it was an interesting read. I've been reading the book of Psalms every day with oneyearbible online and this gave a good understanding of some of the hardships that David writes about. It was enjoyable but not the most amazing book I've ever read.

Love the story...

I love Biblical fiction. It sort of rounds out the characters for me. I enjoyed the engaging story of Bathsheba's life before Davie as well as their lives together.

If you are a Christian you will love to read about David and Bathsheba, you cannot beat the Bible that is clear. but to read this sort of books make you realise somehow that these people lived and were normal people and had private lives, i highly recommend it!
