The best portable boat fan available! Quiet, powerful, and low energy usage.
Possibly the best portable boat fan available. It comes with a permanent mount and an easily-added suction mount that holds well, and is easy to install. The unit is small enough to fit into tight quarters but packs a lot of punch. Plugged into my boat's lighter port, it blew enough air at me from my boat's dash on its lowest setting to keep me cool on hot days. It stayed in place on bouncy water and wakes, and it draws very little power on its low setting. This fan is simply the best in its category for power, silence, and low energy usage. Well worth the money. This is about my 6th or 7th Caframo fan, all still in use in my home, sailboat, and power boat, mostly the battery operated Minimax fans which I can place anywhere and move easily. This one is even more powerful, and runs off my lighter jack. I may eventually use the screw mount to put it under my overhead electronics shelf in the cabin of my C-Dory Angler, but will more likely just use the strong suction cup mount so I can move it around when I want to.Quiet, powerful, energy efficient, and space efficient. Caframo is simply the best, and this is the best of the best in its class.

Switch on back failed
First time I got to use this fan the switch on the back popped off. Thought it would be an easy pop back on but no so much luck. The switch has 3 small pins and a half moon shaft like any normal rotary switch but the half moon shaft has no shaft and relies on the pins. It's a horrible design. On top of that there is a rubber o ring that water proofs thre back of the unit. I know that there is a rubber o ring because it's half hanging out. Where is quality control at this price point I expect quality this thing is assembled worse than a 5 dollar end of shelf item. I didn't get to use it for 2 months after getting it so I can't return to Amazon embarrassing to say the least.

Assembled in Canada?
This trend is bothersome. There is a 3x4 inch piece of paper in the box printed full of Asian/Cyrillic text with two English letters; QC. For quality control. No clue what could have been assembled in Canada, the box maybe. The fan btw, seems well made. The blades are well balanced, no wobble, and the first 2 fans speeds are very quiet. The blades are a little smaller than I thought they would be. It does move some air but I would suggest this fan would be great for a boat cabin etc. up close use like right on top of a bunk for night time air. The 7 inches refers to the total fan basket size.

great quality outdoor 12v fan
We have had some other brand fans that sounded like a plane taking off which is hardly relaxing and then you have to yell over it. I looked all over to try and find a good outdoor 12v fan for the aft deck and fly bridge of out boat. This one moves a decent amount of air while using little power and making little noise. We have been very pleased. It's not cheap but the build quality isnt cheap either, it appears to be well worth the money.

Poor air movement
Not as much air movement for the money as I was hoping for

Great Fans
I tested many fans on store displays and found this one to be one of the best. I installed a Hella fan on my old boat first, then the Kona fan as a second one. So when the time came to outfit my new boat... I bought 2 Kona fans and have been very happy with the amount of air it pushes and the very low current draw compared to other 12 volt fans. I have just purchased two more fans today for other areas of the boat. Hard to beat the price on Amazon too!

Better fans out there for the money
The fan does show polarity on the wires. The wire with the ridges is negative. The fan is cheap compared to others. I wobbles and the on/off switch is very hard to turn.

Quality at a fair price
Seems to work fine overall, but there is a small noise when the fan I tilted to one side, not sure why, I’ll use it this summer and see if it develops
