Product description No Description Available.Genre: Popular MusicMedia Format: Compact DiskRating: Release Date: 13-MAY-2008 .com Since 2002s jaunty Waiting for My Rocket to Come, Jason Mraz has developed into a more mature, well-rounded pop artist. We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things is his most multi-dimensional work yet, covering everything from groove-based material to ballads. While tracks such as "Make It Mine" and "Butterfly" refer back to the catchy style of previous albums, there are many other styles and textures on display here. His duet with Colbie Caillat, "Lucky," for example, explores his folkish, acoustic side, as does the compelling "Details in the Fabric," both of which are excellent songs. Mraz gets a little more experimental on "Coyotes," which toys with a clubby electronica and strangely seems to work, and on "The Dynamo of Volition" for which he employs a hectic, rapping-style of vocal over a typically contagious rhythm. His ballads, such as "Love For A Child", "If It Kills Me" and "Beautiful Mess" (these last two saved for the end) show a more sensitive side and even when his lyrics are occasionally clumsy, Mraz manages to make his point in an emotive way. Easy-going and sunny, but with laudable elements of depth and innovation, this is Mraz at his best so far.--Danny McKenna

Another excellent Mrazish experience
I have loved Jason Mraz since he began and he has never failed to please. This album is similar to Waiting for My Rocket To Come (in my view) and not quite as peppy as Mr. A-Z. I love his fast, wordy, intelligent songs. (I still have Geek in the Pink as my ringer on my phone). This album seemed a bit slower paced, but I love his voice and his jazzy twang. I never liked scat until I heard Jason do it.He has a skill with words beyond any artist I have ever heard. Read his journal on his website and you will be amazed. I think he is one of those unassuming but highly intelligent people. We Sing is an album I could put on while reading or entertaining guests. Not too overpowering, but not total background music either. I need to listen to it a few more times to really get the "feel" for it, but I had to do that with WFMRTC as well, and now I love every track except the last two.I saw Jason perform at the PF Chang's Rock N Roll Marathon in Tempe, AZ just before he put out Mr A-Z and he performed a few of his new ones (though we didn't know that's what they were yet!) and he was absolutely the most entertaining concert I have ever been to. Anyone who has a chance to go see him live should! He broke into opera at our concert, like he does in one of his tracks on Mr A-Z (Mr. Curiosity, I believe - just in case you didn't think that was him -it is! I saw him do it with my own two eyes!)I always wait in anticipation for anything new from Jason, and this album did not fail to please. Also, anyone who can get his Live from the Eagles Ballroom DVD and CD set should- it is wonderful. He does a great song called "Not So Usual" which has become my personal theme song.Everyone, buy this album and support this unique and engaging artist!

Lovin' Mraz!
I had no idea who this singer/artist was. I saw his album cover in Starbucks (and it's sorta eyecatching with the drawing and the title) and said, "Hm. Interesting." Promptly forgot about it. Then heard "I'm Yours" on the radio and said, "Hey, this is great! What a fun song! Who is this?" The announcer said "Jason Mraz". So I said okay, gotta buy it. I did. Now I can't stop listening to it. And do I love Colbie Calliat? YES! Does he happen to have a duet with her on this CD? YES! Do I like every song? NOOO. 3 or 4 of them I can't stand. But the good far outweighs the "bad". And it's not bad, just not my style of music. But overall, a delightful CD. There is this one song, I often fantasize he wrote just for me, is "A Beautiful Mess". That song touches me in every way. The profound words, the melody, the delicate nature. What a gift Jason is. Again, not every song is my style, but the majority? Outstanding. (In case you're curious, my favs in the order of "favorite-ness" are: tracks 5, 2, 12, 6, 3, 11, 4). I highly recommend buying this interesting and fun CD! And listen to the songs more than once before making judgements. Let them play all the way through. The nuances you find time after time is quite remarkable!

Jason Mraz is AMAZING!!
This is the first CD of Mr. Mraz's that I have owned, & I am truly obsessed with it! My love for his music began a month or so ago, when I was given the link to his "I'm Yours" video. That song is such a fun, upbeat song, I was hooked immediately (& I can't imagine anyone NOT liking it)! As far as the over-all CD is concerned, the more I listen to it, the more I am impressed with Jason's talent as a songwriter/singer/musician! His talent & virsatility are truly incredible! I agree with another reviewer who said that he is right up there with Elton John & Billy Joel as far as his talent is concerned, & hopefully, one day will be recognized as such! FYI -- I am a 52 yr. old female, so I think that his music appeals to a variety of people & ages. Both of my daughters who are in their 20's also love Jason's music! BUY this CD - it will be the best one you've bought/heard in a long time -- you will truly enjoy it - guaranteed! Thank you so much Jason Mraz for sharing with us your amazing talent & fabulous music!

Excellent album all around
Radio played the devil out of I'm Yours that's on this album. It's still a good tune. It's got a great hook and is just plain catchy. How about the rest of the album? Well it's worth staying around to listen to. His band is SMOKIN'. The horns are fabulous and the rhythm section is too. They're tight. Everything just fits together. Jason Mraz is a musician's musician. The guy can sing (beautiful voice) and he can entertain - these can be mutually exclusive, but not in his case. The writing is good. Excellent arrangements, too. The lyrics are very entertaining at times, touching at others. There are few albums in which the entire album is good. This is one of them. This album delivers on a lot of albums. I wish I had purchased it sooner.

Even more than I expected
Not having heard anything from Jason Mraz in a while, I was wondering what kind of follow-up he would have to the theatrically mediocre "Mr. A-Z". But when I heard the first single from this album, I knew he was going for a Jack Johnson sound that has become so popular. I wasn't convinced that there would be any depth to the rest of the album, until I listened to it in full. I was blown away by how great each song was, and the duets with Colbie Caillat and James Morrison were a dream to listen to. Jason's vocals have grown, his lyrics are smooth and melodic, and I really enjoy this album after a hard day's work. It was a great leap above any of Jason's previous albums, and a sign that he's growing into a great musician. A great summer album, indeed!

Jason Mraz music for all types of people
I like this album, alot. Before I really got into Jason Mraz I heard another guy sing one of his songs, and I thought that's a cool little thing going on there, funky beat, cool lyrics some threw you off balance a little, but cool. The rest of the album is like that. He has beautiful love songs, and understated sexy songs, and some overstated sexy songs, some are simply funk with good lyrics. My point is the man is versatile and easy on the ears. I like this album quite a bit. I've been listening to it every day at least once for a month now. Good tunage, not normally my bag, but I;m super glad I picked it up, now I want more.

A-mraz-ing!
I loved this album from the start. The only songs I was familiar with were 'I'm Yours' and 'Lucky' and I'm so glad I bought the album for these two songs or I wouldn't have discovered this hidden gem. I was expecting the album to be mellow and chilled out but it's so much more than that! This album is so emotive, has something for every mood, and above all else, it's real. And by that I mean real in regards to the music (it's not manufactured, generic rubbish), you can hear and feel the emotions he's portraying, you can feel his pain, his happiness, his frustration and confusion. This has to be one of the best albums I own. It's a little bit different, you can't categorise it because it is so varied in styles. 'Butterfly' grabbed me from the start, as did 'Dynamo of Volition' and 'Coyotes'.I think everyone should own a copy of this album, In fact, it's so great I almost don't want to get any of Jason Mraz's other CD's in case they don't compare!Amazing!

Great music!
Jason Marz is without doubt one of the greatest musician and composer we have today. He reminds me of Beatles, John Lennon in particular, Leo Sayer, Elton John and more.Lately I've been buying one music CD of his here on Amazon.co.uk after another and they are all superb ...and the more you listen the better you like it ...but the first ever listening is enough to attract one's attention and evoke one's pleasure.Highly recommended!

Just the best
This is possibly just the best album in my vast collection. A good mix of styles, uplifting and meaningful. I first heard I'm Yours on the radio and I had to buy it. I love I'm yours (naturally!), Details in the fabric and Beautiful Mess - however, they are all just pure class. I am now collecting all of Jason's music. Highly recommended.
