Crime Time T'was a death before Christmas - murder mystery game for 8 players

I love hosting these murder mystery games. This is the 5th one I've done and decided to have my family participate this holiday season over Christmas dinner. I was very excited about trying this line of games as the reviews were great and I usually go with a different brand. Sadly, I was very disappointed and did not think it was worth the amount I paid for it. For one, the DVD did not work on any player in my home. As to the reasoning I do not know but I ended up having to play two characters rather than one unexpectedly. Secondly, there were numerous typos in everyone's books and in some cases the wrong people were queued to ask questions when it was actually another characters turn and they were instructed to ask those questions to the wrong people and so on. Also, the questions in many cases were not questions but rather statements that you were to make randomly. I was also very disappointed in the discovering who the murderer was as it was so completely obvious half way through the second round rather than keeping you in suspense until the end. I believe that many of these issues stem from it being translated from another language due to some of the vocabulary used in the game but I cannot confirm that that is the case, it is just an observation. Overall, I would not recommend this. I'd pay half the money for a competitive brand.

This game was a blast, we had a good time playing this game. The booklets were easy to follow and colorful. At the time when i brought this game it was a bit pricey. I checked back an the price on their other games have been lowered, therefore i just ordered "Stiffed at the Speakeasy" for 8 players. I'm so excited to plan an play that mystery game at the the end of March.

excellent. 1 DVD to run with guest and the end answer as to who done it was on a separate DVD so there was no way to divulge who Dunnit accidentally.
