The product is simple, and easy to install once you get to the refrigeration coils! Problem is that if you are ordering this product your coils are likely covered in solid ice - it takes some time and patience to free the coils of ice in order to fit this part. So far it seems to work - might as well replace the temperature sensors too - while you're in there.

We have a Kenmore Coldspot refrigerator that came with the house when we moved in over 9 years ago. Several times we encountered the frozen drain line / dripping issue where water would pool up on the shelves and then at the bottom under the crisper drawers. Each time I pulled everything out of the freezer and worked to remove ice and thaw out the drain line with hot water. It is a real pain and usually takes 2 hours or so to thaw everything out. I really thought the refrigerator was done for when I did this at the start of 2020 when it started to drip again after just a few days. At that point, we just put a bucket under the drip and tried to keep up with the water. We planned on replacing our fridge with a new one this fall, but due to the pandemic refrigerators have not been on sale like they normally are, so I have the fridge one last chance by thawing everything out again and installing one of these clips on the heater line. I really didn't expect it to work that well, but it's been at least 3 weeks now and there is no dripping. Not only that, but our refrigerator is working better than ever. Let's hope it lasts for a lot longer!

Does the job

This part was recommended to keep ice from accumulating in the defrost drain of our refrigerator.We removed the back panel of the refrigerator 1 week after installation and it was ice free!

was having trouble with the fridge freezing up so decided to give this a shot. I installed it and the fridge came down to the correct temp of 37 then back up to 45 like it had been doing for weeks. I spent the night dreaming about how to get it out of the house so I could burn it in the morning. Woke up and checked and it was holding 37, been holding the correct temp for 2 weeks now so this little guy saved the fridge.

Was a long process to remove panel, defrost the system, and install the new part. The clip was longer than the original so needs to be cut to fit which was easy to do. Considering the time involved to thaw the frozen tube, would have cost $$$ to have an appliance repair shop fix. Watch a YouTube video how to

So far so good. When I went to install it I didn't think it was long enough (although still much longer than the original part) so I wrapped some brass wire around it and added another 2 inches. Hopefully now it's long enough to heat far enough down and prevent ice buildup and prevent it from clogging. Will update this review if the water starts pooling beneath the crisper drawers again.
