This book is FANTASTIC and SO educational
Exactly the book that I wanted, and like-new quality! This book is FANTASTIC and SO educational, even including photos to demonstrate what the author is describing. The show outfits and photos are dated, but what judges are looking for and what riders should work towards is exactly the same. Amazing book!!!!

GREAT book for riders!
Have u ever been to a horse show and not understood why you pinned as you did? This GREAT book makes it so clear how the pinning is done! As a rider/coach for years I was never even aware of the exact details that judges look at but it's now clear to me that A LOT more goes into judging than most people think. This is GREAT for a trainer who is coaching kids to show or for someone showing. The author gears it toward all levels of riders... not just the top. GREAT BUY!

Judging Hunters and Hunter Seat Equitation: A Comprehensive Guide for Exhibitors and Judges
Even though a few things in English hunter/jumper class have changed since this book was published, it is still quite relevant. Lot's of photos of the good, the bad and the ugly. I would love to see a second edition with a video companion.

A must read for any serious competitor!
I have owned and shown horses since 1985, and in 2005 I started having schooling horse shows at my farm. I noticed my judge one day was referring to a book while judging, and I asked what the book was. She told me all about Anna Jane White Mullins book, Judging Hunters and Hunter Seat Equitation. She said it was a "judges bible". I bought the book, read it, and soon after began judging locally myself. I found this book to be extremely helpful with judging, but also as a competitor. It helped me to understand exactly what the judge is looking for and how they score, and why. I loved the book so much I contacted Mrs. Mullin and started using her as a judge at my farm's shows for many years. She also did clinics for us. She's a wonderful person, horse woman and author. I highly recommend this book!
