Jill Mansell has done it again
Great book by Jill MansellGinny who is divorced from Gavin, and they have a daughter Jem heads of to University and there dog Bellamy has to be put to sleep, which leaves Ginny very lonely. I loved the relationship between Ginny and Jem, Jem was a credit to any mother and father.Ginny gets caught for shoplifting, because she has things on her mind, she did not realise that she walked out of the shop with an object in her hand, she is called back in the shop by the good looking Finn, who was wondering around the shop at the same time, after explanations, the manageress of the shop lets her go, realising Ginny had made a mistake.Ginny decides to advertise for a lodger, so she is taken in by Perry, but at the time did not realise he wanted the room in Ginny house for his sister Laurel, who is getting over a relationship break down, but agrees to her moving in, Perry quite likes Ginny and asks her out for a date.Ginny has a best friend Carla, they go out for a meal to a restaurant, and they over hear there is a vacancy going,Ginny decides she wants the job, Evie the manageress agrees that she can start the next day, but the owner of the restaurant is no other than Finn who thought Ginny was shoplifting, he had other ideas about offering Ginny the job. After much persuasion by the manageress Ginny gets the job, and she has to work for the handsome Finn. The only complaint I had about the book, I think the last chapter could have been a little different, but still very enjoyable reading, and a happy endingThere are a lot of relationships in this book and characters, Ginny, Gavin, Jema, Carla, Finn, Tamsin, Rupert, Perry, Laurel, some of the characters were absolutely delightful, and some not so.

Thoroughly enjoyed this
This is the first Jill Mansell book I have read and I really enjoyed it. The main character is Ginny, a divorcee who is still friendly with her ex and suffering empty nest syndrome after her only daughter goes to university. Although the story follows Ginny and how she tries to make a new life for herself, it also dips into the lives of Jem- her daughter, Carla- her best friend, Laurel-her lodger and Finn- her boss.Ginny has a new romance with Perry- her lodger's brother, a new job with Finn- the man who accused her of shoplifting and many worries about Jem's new life in Bristol.Jill Mansell fleshes out her characters really well and I was very interested in how things would turn out for all of them. Ginny in particular was warm and well-written. I became quite invested in her story even though I have very little in common with her.The plot was engrossing because there was so much going on. It's not one of those very light chick lit books with little plot except how to get the 2 main characters together. This had a lot more to offer because it was funny and some of the plot was surprising. The ending is very satisfying although I almost wanted another chapter because I was sorry to see the back of Ginny.I will definitely be picking up another Jill Mansell book.
