Great customer service after recieving 2 dead SCOBYs - fermented great
These SCOBYs were added to a brew a little over a week ago and have done absolutely nothing. By comparison, I had another brew made from a bottle of GT's original and it fermented great under the same conditions. They had a rather bitter and off smell when I opened it up.UPDATE 03/15The company quickly sent me a replacement pair of SCOBYs and these made a fantastic brew! They were also totally compatible with pu'her and oolong tea. These are of great quality and the company behind them has some great customer service. The first ones could have just gotten too cold in shipping.

Follow the instructions to the tea
I am a beginner, not a pro. I have tried a couple of different brands but they didn't work for me. I love the fact that there are 2 scoby just in case I messed up and now I got 2 beautiful kombuchas waiting. Buy it!

Bought twice, both molded...
I bought the one pack of this kit and set about brewing in a brand new heavily washed container. Within a week and a half, I had a layer of pellicle, but it molded over. I blamed myself for missing cleaning somewhere and ordered the two SCOBY kit so I'd have more starter tea. I re-washed the jar and even lowered the amount of sweet tea to start with to make sure the PH was high enough to prevent more mold. It's two and a half weeks later, and there's mold on this one too.I have a different jar with a SCOBY from a friend, and that one has been productive and brewing batches for months with no issues. (Current second fermentation in the background of the photo.)
