Bought this for my mom. She's made over 1,800 mini-quilts for premie babies at 3 local hospitals. She uses 30 squares - 5" each.I knew Alto's made a wonderful matte cutting kit for picture framing. I have framed professionally, and their easy, measuring and cutting system produced mattes indistinguishable from shop-made. This gave me the confidence to spend the $200 for my mom, even though she wasn't enthused.Their QuiltCut 2 system did not disappoint. I cut hundreds of squares in perfect stacks in much less time. Mom said they were more precise than ruler cut squares, which means a flatter, more accurate quilt.It takes a little time to figure out placement of rulers and fabric. An instructional DVD and booklet are included. I watched their demo online, but the booklet is what helped me step by step. I cut a yard or 2 at a time. The most difficult to cut is the final row, when the smaller piece of fabric is harder to keep in place.Keep your rotary blade sharp. Dull ones leave bottom layer connected by a few threads, which wastes time recutting. The cutter can be easily adjusted to cut a variety of angles by exact degrees. 90 for squares, 30, 45, 60, and more for triangles and diamonds. I haven't tried these, but looked easy to do.I bought a slightly discounted Amazon Warehouse one w damaged box. Kit was perfect inside. I recommend buying a backup cutting mat. It will eventually wear, and is custom sized and made for board, and reasonably priced. While Alto's, after 30 yrs, is still in business selling matte cutting kit, they sold the QuiltCut 2 to another manufacturer. I wouldn't want to have to customize a replacement mat years down the road.The QuiltCut 2 is worth the investment. It will replace many rulers made for cutting only one type of pattern. I would recommend buying it before you're 87. My mom's broken both wrists, and is now unable to rotary cut. But I knew this would last, and eventually, I'd also have the pleasure of using the QuiltCut 2.

A little pricy but a good value. I love the long cutting ruler that you can move in different directions to cut fabric. It is a sturdy and stable table to make your cutting easier.

I like it a lot. I don’t use it a lot but when I do use it it is very helpful. It’s just awkward to start when you’re not using it so big but good.

Santa was very good to me last year and gave me this. What he didn't bring me was some extra time to go with it. I just unpacked it a few weeks ago. This is an excellent product which replaces a plethora of other stuff. I am still a little uncertain about the cuts (the cutting edge just seems wobbly to me) but when I check them they are spot on.I really love the fabric "grabbers". I don't enjoy wrestling with yards fabric and can see how this feature is going to be a delight to use when having to wrestle yards of fabric, like a quilt back or drapes.The on-line videos and the DVD were very useful.Some people have wished it was less expensive. Actually it's about the same price a two high quality mats and rulers which it replaces and then some. Had I discovered this when I first began quilting I'd have saved hundreds on rulers. Still, even Santa had to plan and save a bit. BUT this is an American made product and it shows. Considering it will last a few life times, isn't computerized so will never become obsolete, it's a one time investment which according to other reviewers has blue ribbon customer service and is so heavy duty it will be the go to cutting device in the post-apocalpyse, I think it is very reasonably priced.

This product is amazing! Cut multiple layers of fabric accurately and quickly. The included DVD is educational and the product booklet very helpful to me, as a new quilter. My only concern is when I need to replace the cutting mat - will one be available? This is well worth the money!

The QuiltCut2 is a fabulous product. The only regret I have is not purchasing this product sooner. It has taken hours off of my cutting time and has improved my cutting accuracy. American made quality product well worth the money.

I am a little disappointed. Maybe I was expecting too much, but at a cost of over $200, I don't think I was. The very first instruction was to "remove the plastic covering from the cutting guide." This seemed simple enough except you can't remove the paper from under the head. It's not screwed on, it's attached using a special tool, so I was left was little pieces of paper sticking out. I used a mat knife to trim around the head, but it's still not right and annoys the heck out of me, The second instruction was to align the cutting mat. This has also proved difficult to maneuver the cutting mat under the cutting guide while trying to get everything lined up *and* at the same time leaving 1/8" at the bottom and 1" on the side. There is no way to measure these. And the idea of having to re-align the mat every time I use it, makes my head spin. I suppose there's a trick to it but I haven't yet figured it out. All in all, I was expecting something a little more User friendly. I'm still trying to decide if I want to send it back.

I absolutely love this cutter. In fact, I am ordering a second one to give my sister who is also a quilter. I am using this to replace the GoQube I bought a few months back. Cutting out a quilt is always the part of quilting I enjoy least, and this has made it a lot simpler and faster. I have only had it for a few weeks, so I am unable to comment on its durability, but so far it has held up very well and I could not be happier with this purchase.
