Seems to be a reputable company
Pros1. Dr. Tobias seems to be a reputable company. It originally started in German in 2013, but their main corporate office is currently in Canada, though their website claims that their supplements are “manufactured in the United States, in a trusted, GMP-certified, and FDA registered facility.” The main takeaway is that they are not manufactured in China!2. These are small, round tablets about the size of an aspirin tablet which are easy to swallow.3. This is a relatively high dose of zinc suitable for fighting off a cold or for older people who wish to protect their eyes from age-related degeneration.Cons1. Extremely expensive.Zinc is most famous for improving immune function, especially for fighting off colds. There is also some evidence it may slow the progression of age-related eye disease, most notably, macular degeneration. However, in the two most notable studies done in this regard utilizing zinc (see below), the following supplements were also included in these trials as a daily dose along with the zinc:—Zinc oxide 80 mg.—Vitamin C 500 mg.—Vitamin E 400 IU—Beta-carotene 15 mg. OR vitamin A 25,000 IU—Copper as cupric oxide 2 mg. (this prevents copper-deficiency anemia, a side-effect of high doses of zinc)The RDA for zinc is a mere 8 mg for women and 11 mg for men, and it is contained in virtually every multivitamin on the market. I take a multivitamin daily, but I also typically take a separate zinc supplement containing 25 mg of zinc per tablet. It does, however, seem to be fairly common these days for zinc to be sold in a dose of 50 mg. such as this supplement offers. It is definitely useful to take a higher dose of zinc for seniors who are hoping to protect their eyes from age-related eye disease. But in higher doses, it is important to also take the above supplements at the same time, especially copper. Fortunately, many multivitamins marketed to seniors contain copper and beta-carotene, and it is easy to find vitamin E and vitamin C sold separately in these recommended doses.RELEVANT RESEARCHAge-Related Eye Disease Study Research Group. 1 small easy to swallow tablet provides 50 mg/455%DV of zinc (oxide/citrate)
The mineral zinc is an anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, is good for immune system, hair, and skin..I remember a few months ago I had trouble finding zinc supplements. I normally have some, ran out.. then the pandemic hit and there were shortages on many things, including zinc. I got creative and found some hair and skin supplements that included a goodly amount of zinc. So I have been taking those on and off, and still have a few left. When I saw these available, I scooped them up because this is what I had been originally looking for (a higher dose zinc supplement). It is a good one to have on hand- whether to help you through a sickness or to help keep sickness away. This is a 90 day supply of super easy to swallow small round tablets. It provides 50 mg zinc (oxide/citrate) per pill. This provides 455% of daily value. I don't necessarily take them every day (mostly because I forget), but they are readily available to me and I try to take one up to 3-4 days a week. These never make my stomach queasy, they never feel like they are going to get caught in my throat, they have no taste, and I don't feel anything bad. I usually take one after eating.Acquired 06/2020 with best by date of 04/2022Made in USA. Dr Tobias has quality product, albeit they are pricey. Similar dosing and style can be had for half the price. I haven't tried those. I don't rate on price, but I do comment on it. I think you will be pleased with these if you choose to try them.

Dr Tobias Zinc tablets are easy to consume
My wife takes vitamin D3 due to doctor's recommended, and turmeric supplements every day to alleviate muscle pain and inflammation. Off late, she thinks zinc supplements will boost our immunity and give some degree of protection when dealing with Covid-19. So the efficacy can't be measured or validated, but she has jumped on the bandwagon! This particular one has small white pills that are very easy to swallow. However, this is 50mg which is 455% of daily value! So beware. She hasn't experienced any side effects of using this for the past few days either. Also, the label is easy to read (compared to another brand ATP).
