This is an amazing metal detector. You do have to be extremely close (meaning like almost touching the clothing on a person while wanding them for weapons before entering an establishment), but this is a good thing when looking for weapons on a person. This has been a great enhancement to our security team, and would have gotten 5 stars all around, but they are very expensive. I think this one is a good deal, as they go for up to $250 on Amazon- but at $165 it is still expensive!

I did a test of it and learned that the wand has to go very close to the body for full accuracy.

We use it for security purposes . It is easy to handle and alerts to the presence of metal.My staff finds it easy andreliable and the public isn't offended when it is used properly. Thank you Garrett for a great product for security purposes.

Very durable and accurate. This uses a 9V batter in the compartment near the handle. We use it at our door to inspect for weapons. So far it has been able to minimize the amount of items customers have tried to sneak in.
