Connoisseur Kolinsky Sable Brush, 3 Round

The brush came... just lying in a a box with another order of DVD’s, no packaging whatsoever, “0” None! Not even a small plastic cylinder to protect the brush from fraying...not taped down, or anything of the sort? Luckily the Brushpart itself was fine. After I rinsed it off and brought it to a point, I placed a cover over the brush and ferrule. Not as expensive as other well know Kolinsky brushes and the acrylic handle looks a bit cheap (like makeup brushes). And the shipping is as bad as other reviews said, no protection whatsoever.However, these brushes (I got a 2 and a 5) soak up wate and distribute evenly. Size 2 doesn’t give that fine of a line but I am not an experienced brush user so it could be me. They can be used as Chinese calligraphy brush, too, surprisingly.The brushes are not short like travel brushes (size 5 is about 8”, size 2 7.5”).

Connoisseur gets my vote on a good brush. A short clear handle with an end you can use for detail in your watercolors and lots of hair which delivers a good amount of water and pigment that comes to a nice point. A quality brush for the money.

Holds lots of water and watercolor. Gives a good point when wet. Handle has a great tip to do impresses in moist watercolor and paper. Another artist recommended Connoisseur brushes and although a little more money they are really working great. I have #8 and #10 rounds.

I love these Connoisseur brushes. What a difference they make. I now have the #6, 8, and 10. I do paintings not larger than 8 x 10 or card size. They're nicely pointed and hold enough for washes on paper of those sizes. I'm new at watercolors, and having good brushes to work with definitely makes a difference.

I usually love the Connisseur Kolinsky brushes so ordered this script brush. I felt it was a waste of money as the script brushes I have purchased from local art supply stores were just as good or even better than this one. It has very little hairs so doesn't deliver much.

This brush is an instant favorite. It holds ample color and offers a nice range of brush strokes. The point offers fine lines that are consistently great. Very pleased indeedy do!

A beauty. I'm just learning watercolor, and the high quality of this brush sure does make it easier. Super soft, great point, holds lots of paint for easy strokes.
