I bought this to use in college and it’s amazing! I have showed many people it and a lot of them want one for themselves. It’s super easy to use and can run a lot of things. I’ll have multiple tabs opened and it will still run really fast. If you’re looking for a laptop for college then this is the one!

I had it for 3 months before it stopped working. It burned my hand when I picked it up. It is impossible to get help from Microsoft; believe me, I tried. I purchased Asurion’s 4 year coverage plan, but they won’t help me because it’s under Microsoft warranty for a year. I finally had to open a case with Amazon and will hear back from them in the next couple days. Do NOT purchase this product!!! Update: The seller BDE LLC sent me a used computer, but I ordered what was advertised on the Amazon website as NEW. Amazon has an A to Z satisfaction guarantee that they won’t honor. I’ve been on the line with numerous customer service reps that can’t and won’t help me. This is insane. I used to trust Amazon. That’s not the case anymore!

I got this laptop because the hinge is extremely durable. I broke my last 3 laptops by dropping them, which gradually twisted the hinges and led to the shell cracking apart. In contrast, the Microsoft Surface Book 3 has one long "accordion hinge" that completely seals the gap between the screen/tablet and the keyboard. There is no space between hinges for any torque to happen. The tablet is also removable, which eliminates the need for a hinge. **UPDATE** Since first writing this review, my laptop has done some weird things: 1) If you pause a video on YouTube then the screen times out/turns off to save battery, the camera will sometimes turn on. This is creepy (and there is no way to turn the camera off other than restarting the laptop) 2) While I have my settings adjusted for the screen brightness to not auto-adjust to surrounding light conditions and this mostly works, it still does auto-adjust a little 3) While watching a video on YouTube, a portion of the screen will sometimes go black. The only way to fix it is by refreshing the video Back to the regularly scheduled positive review to not end on a sour note: Besides its durability, this laptop is cute and small. It's essentially a high-powered tablet. It's lightweight, thin, and fun-sized. The screen isn't too small either. Rather, it's just right! I got the 13.5" version, which seems to be slightly smaller than the average laptop. The profile is sleek too. There are only 3 buttons-the power button and up/down volume buttons. The charger is small, and the place where it inserts into the laptop is like a small, thin floppy disk. The keys have just the right amount of resistance too (slightly on the soft side). The screen quality seems to be better than average, starting the laptop and logging into it is almost instantaneous, and it works quickly! I use the laptop for my Chief Architect Home Designer program, which is a somewhat memory-intensive and processing-heavy program. When you combine all of that with the price, this laptop is a steal! I wish I thought of getting a laptop/tablet combo like this a while ago, particularly one with such a unique and durable hinge.

It is a nice system to have. Meets all my expectations.

Great design allows for useability and portability. Add a USB C multiport dock for maximum usage.

I loved the looks of this sleek laptop. the ease of moveable and the power of the laptop. I recommend buying the pen stylet and the docking 2.

Stopped working and my grandson filed a report and has been waiting for several weeks and still hasn't got a new replacement and he is in college and needs it bad 😡

Defective Surface Book3. Did not boot up at all

I purchased the 13.5" i5 256 GB. I've had it for around 3 weeks now, and it works great! As a student, it's great to have the touch screen for annotating documents and handwriting notes. I also use it for gaming and it runs smoothly for games such as League of Legends or Valorant. The only problems that i have run into so far has to do with how hot the SB3 gets. But as long as you're not running too many apps at once or playing heavier games, it should be fine. Overall, great laptop!

Received 3 days early, just on time for the weekend (props to Purolator). Unboxed on a breezy friday night...anticipation turns to disappointment - Surface Book 3 is D.O.A. Jump through microsoft helpline hoops and tech. support confirms hardware failure - here is yur' ticket # for Amazon, send it back immediately. Excellent Amazon customer service rep talked me through everything again, did all he could to make it right and initiated the return process. Good man he was. While waiting on hold, reviewed the very extensive troubleshooting guide on microsoft.com. One small blurb, almost a caption, was a suggestion to clean the copper leads on the brand new "hot end" of the charger (where the white light is) with rubbing alcohol. I prefer DI water but whatever'. Careful blast of clean, compressed air in the female port and gentle cleaning of magcharger contacts and I have a fully functional, really quite cool MSB3. Thank you Microsoft CSR. Thank you top tier Amazon customer service...return cancelled...reason-PEBKAC. P.S. Politeness and respect go a long way, and it cost 0.

The keyboard didn't work. Had to use a paperclip too separate the two pieces and charge the tablet separately and update the drivers then it worked fine
