Fits FL-500s but not Factory Filter that FL-500s is supposed to replace
There were a few conflicting reviews when I bought this about if this item fits an FL-500s filter. Hopefully I can clear this up and off a possible explanation as to why that may be. Although the sticker on the inside of the product states that it fits FL-400s and doesn't mention 500, it DOES INDEED fit the 500s. I'm not sure if that's a typo, or they incorrectly omitted the 500s, but it does fit. However, I found out the hard way that when removing the factory oil filter from my 2019 F150, the filter that was on my truck when I bought it was not a 500s. It's some other filter labeled FoMoCo but does not have a filter number. It has a different flute pattern and that filter will not fit inside this cap.So, it's possible if someone thought their vehicle had a FL-500s on it since that's what the manual says to use, and they tried to remove the factory filter with this cap, it would not work and they would have thought that it didn't fit the 500s, when in reality it will fit the 500s and just wouldn't fit that factory filter.

Motorcraft FL-500s, does not fit
Does not fit Motorcraft FL-500s oil filter. It seems fit but when you tighten the oil filter, the tools slips. using bare hands with rubberized mechanical gloves would tighten the oil filter better than this.

Oil filter tool for Ford Ranger
Generally works for a Ford Ranger oil filter but it doesn’t grip the filter tightly to spin it off if the filter is screwed in somewhat tightly. Had to push the tool against the filter to get a decent grip to remove the filter.

Good filter wrench. Fits the oil filter on my 2014 Ford F-150 with the 5.0L V8. Been using for 1 year now. It seems to be holding up good and feels durable. I took off one star because the filter sometimes gets stuck in the filter wrench and I have to beat it off with a hammer. Not a huge deal, just something to note.

I change the oil and filters on several cars, and most of them use an Motorcraft FL-500S filter.I thought it was a good time to look for a good value wrench, and this was it.Good fit and engagement length. 3/8" drive.

Description of this item says it would fit ford 7.3 diesel engine... this is obviously for a small foreign motor and not even close to proper size tool I need...
