Kept my feet happy
I broke these in by hiking a steep and rocky trail in Colorado, and had no blisters by the time I made it back down. I then wore them for 4 days straight while camping and hiking, and had no problems with my feet - no soreness, blisters, etc. I was pleasantly surprised because nearly all shoes give me blisters aside from sneakers. They were nice to have walking through the woods as well because they kept my feet protected. This was my first time camping, and I was really glad I had these for that trip. I am not by any means an experienced hiker/camper, so I don't know how more experienced people would feel about them, but I was very happy with these.

I purchased 1/2 size smaller than my size and they still fit comfortably roomy. They have great support
I had previously tried these boots on so I knew they fit large. I purchased 1/2 size smaller than my size and they still fit comfortably roomy. They have great support. When wearing them around the house to break them in, I found they were comfortable all day long. By the time I hiked in them they gave me rigid but cozy support. So far I absolutely love them. Worth every penny. Have hiked in steep, packed snow this winter. I wear ice spikes with them at times and they seem perfect. Highly recommend.

Love these BOOTS
i've been wearing them for 2 years now and cannot recommend them enough. For some reason, the Vasque Skywalks I bought in Size 11 destroyed my foot, but after reading the reviews about how these run slightly bigger, I gave them a shot and have not looked back. If you have a slightly wider foot and have trouble with hiking boots rubbing your foot the raw after just a few miles, I recommend you try these.

Great Boots
I hesitate ordering shoes online that I've never tried on before. But since I've owned Merrells previously, I gave it a go and ordered my standard 8.5 (which is what I wear in most shoes, especially athletic shoes). No worries there. The boots fit great. Ample room in the toe box, so my toes aren't crowded, but not too roomy either. The heel fits snug, so I don't have to worry about slippage. I did have to pull on the laces a bit to get them as tight as I wanted, but that's okay because that means the laces won't loosen when I'm out hiking. The biggest thing for me is that these boots are so comfortable that there is no need to break them. Lightweight, but my ankle is supported, and I hit solidly when I walk. No worries for twisted ankles or missteps. Plus, in the few hours I've had them on, no plantar fasciitis pain because my heels are firmly supported and cushioned. The best perks is the boots are Gore-Tex lined. I haven't tested out the waterproofness yet, but having owned Merrell's for years, I have no doubt this pair will live up to the Merrell name.Overall, I highly recommend the Crestbound. Plus, I got the black ones and they're stylish enough that I can wear them to work.

So far So good
It is too early to judge how well the boot survives the field season at work (may be edited later). I like the structure of the shoe, but they seem really bulky. Merrell's are normally true to size and I order a half size larger, but I would have been comfortable with the actual size in this boot.

The shoes did great, they kept my feet dry when hiking through ...
I have only worn these shoes on three hikes, but they were all long distance hikes and uphill downhill strenuous hikes. The shoes did great, they kept my feet dry when hiking through snow, and they fit as expected. My ankles feel secure in these boots and I would recommend them for anyone who needs sturdy and durable hiking shoes. They are a little on the heavy said for your basic beginner or intermediate hikes, but for 6- 14 mile hikes which are what I have done in them, they have been perfect!

Boot seems really sturdy, but is pretty heavy
Boot seems really sturdy, but is pretty heavy. I wouldn't want to hike all day in it - it takes more energy to move weight on our feet than on our backs, so even if you're packing light, you're going to use more energy just walking in heavy boots. These boots are solid but pretty weighty

I really love this boot
I really love this boot! They seem to be pretty comfortable right out of the box, wore them on a short break in hike around 6miles. No hot spots or soreness where the lacing rivets are. Good arch support and you'd have to try hard to have an ankle roll over in this boot. Really roomy in the toe box area. Just a nice sturdy hiking boot. So on to fitting. I wear a size 9 in most every shoe, so on the comments of others I ordered a whole size down. Way to small especially if you are going to wear a good wool sock, and you really should if your purchasing this kind of boot. So next was 8 1/2 almost perfect but I could tell there would be discomfort on going down steep terrain. Oddly not a whole lot of size difference between sz 8 to 81/2. I settled on the 9's, the size difference between the 81/2 and 9 was substantial fyi. This boot works well with a wider foot like the Vasque brand boot is better for a narrower foot. Overall if your looking for a comfortable sturdy hiking boot this is the boot for you.

New favourite footwear!
Bought for my partner to replace her well-worn Berghaus hiking boots. She walks our dogs around 5-10 miles a day over rough, changeable terrain, from rocky hills to muddy fields and soggy-floored forests. She loves everything about these Merrell boots - they fit incredibly well and true to size, are very comfortable, and the lacing method means she can keep the lower part nice and tight but the upper loosens easily once untied, which makes them very quick to take off and put on compared to other hiking boots. They took absolutely no time at all to "break in" - something she says she has never experienced with other boots in the past. While the colours put her off a little to start with, she has become used to the flash of purple and even likes it now.

Generously sized - very comfortable
I tried my daughter's boots on and we have more or less the same sized feet. They were comfortable so I bought a pair. I usually go for a 5 (UK) but sometimes fit into 4's. In this case, I definitely need those thick woolly walking boot socks in order to wear these boots. Otherwise they are very very comfortable and a great ankle support!

Brilliant Boot
A terrific boot at a bargain price from Amazon. Lighter than my previous boots, attractive and would appear to be hard wearing. I have taken them out 3 times now and NO blisters. I did have some rubbing above the ankle which was very uncomfortable, but as this was my smaller foot I solved this by wearing a pair of liner socks under my walking socks which stopped my foot moving around so much, without compromising on comfort. Very pleased with these boots. My husband finds them very easy to clean and is now looking to buy the mens boot.

Supportive and comfortable
Excellent...supportive and comfortable around the ankle and the sole is robust. I would feel confident about tackling uneven paths in these boots. They have flexibility and are not heavy.

I am a proper 5 and I feel great in them
I am a proper 5 and I feel great in them, with thin or thigh socks. The heel support is just perfect because my heel is quite thin and it feels it has been made for my feet.
