Smart, Well Thoughtout, Easy To Use, Wifi Extender, Features!
The phone is light but feels substantial in the hand. The features are very easy to use/navigate. I really like that it can act as a wifi extender and the smartphone app is pretty cool and not as clunky as I was expecting. Great sound quality when compared to wired landline phone and iPhone 5+. From the photos I could not tell but the phone's back is all white while the front is black. I wish it were all black.

Pretty nifty. Functions as a wireless extender. Makes landline useful for more than just emergencies.
The KX-PRW130W phone and extension handset are a very useful addition to my home network. Here are some of my experiences:1) The base unit can be configured as a wireless extender with about 7 keystrokes. This added at least two bars in the master bedroom side of my house. I also now have effective coverage where I like to sit outside on my deck, so among other things I can now answer the landline from there.2) This unit replaced a "wireless" phone I had previously installed. Removing that obsolete hardware really cleaned up my wireless network a lot.3) I placed the base station where it was more effective as a wireless extender and the extension handset where I previously had the base. Everything useful on a daily basis can be accomplished from the Smartphone Connect app or the extension handset.4) The Smartphone Connect app effectively integrates my wireless phone with my landline, which was previously an irritating, expensive, useless annoyance. My wireless service goes out occasionally where I live, so I have to have the landline for emergencies. Now I can choose which service I want from the app screen and use the same contact list. Although contacts can be selectively downloaded to the phone, each of the 4 possible smartphone users can have their own private contact list. The only thing is that all of the phone numbers must be stored with the country code, "1" in the USA, so that they are compatible with the landline.5) The Smartphone Connect app has a "hold" button, so you can answer the landline, put it on hold, and pick up with another device. If it's an annoying sales call it can be left on hold forever :)Here are some things that would improve the Smartphone Connect app:1) There needs to be support for Windows 10, on both the Intel and Windows Phone (ARM) chip sets. Currently only Android and IOS are supported,2) The app can be used on both and iPhone and an iPad. You have to indicate that you don't want only iPad apps. The app works great on a iPad, except, at least on IOS 9.2, the display doesn't rotate. You have to hold the iPad in portrait orientation.3) There is an annoying "Smartphone Connect Waiting for configuration data (S1-03)" message on the iPad when the base is configured as a Wifi extender.

Great phone, but the iOS software does not appear to be updated regularly, too bad because it's a real battery drain on my iPhone 6 Plus. :(

Works great. Integrates with Wi-Fi network.
The phone works very well and integrated easily with our farm's Wi-Fi network (Apple Airport & Airport Extreme).Pros:-Handsets can be set _not_ to ring at night (or what ever hours you like) with silent mode. I don't like people calling me at night. This was a key feature for me.-Specific people in the phone's phonebook can be allowed to come in through the silent period at night (ringer off time). Key feature.-Call blocking for people you don't want to be bothered by at all. Key feature.-This allows us to have one phone system that spans multiple buildings using our Wi-Fi network for communications on the farm and then the base unit of the phone interfaces out to the landline phone system. Wonderful feature.-Excellent range: >180' radius. That's over 100,000 sq-ft or 2.5 acres. This is more than 3x further than our Uniden phone.-Reasonable price at $95 on Prime free shipping.-Easy and intuitive menu system.-Small.Cons:-The buttons are flat and make touch work less accurate. Menu and select buttons are tiny. Minor issue. I'll live with this but Panasonic could improve here.-No distinctive ring assignable to each phonebook entry - this is a feature we have in our Uniden phones that I really like. The talking caller ID is not a good substitute. Bother - I'll miss that. The Panasonic Smartphone Connect app for iOS downloadable from the iTunes store works great even with our older iPodTouch 4 devices and the Panasonic KX-PRW130 landline phone. (Panasonic also has one for Android for users of that persuasion - spelling correct's suggestion on word choice.) The app turns our iPodTouches into additional phones. We have two airports on our family farm that are set for bridging mode and I can use an iPodTouch within range of either to intercom to a different iPodTouch, the KX-PRW130 handset or out to our landline phone for calls to the outside world as well as checking messages and taking incoming calls. There is a little sound lag with the app but it is not a big deal. About 1/3rd of a second or so. Mostly noticeable when testing intercom calling someone else in the same room where I can hear them both in person and over the phone. I would like to see Panasonic release this app for the MacOSX as well. That would be very useful. It would also be nice if the app worked with bluetooth earphones like the Kinivo 240 and 220.

Phone is crap
Nope… looks nice but function is POOR…I've been setting this phone up for an hr so far…-The manual is terrible… 9 pages of crap - then it tells me how to install the batteries… really?-The iOS app… DOES NOT WORK… I had to figure out how to find the IP address of the base unit (really?)… after solving that nonsense the app just stalled. Its a PHONE… how hard can it be? I want to plug it in…. have the voicemail work and download a few of my contacts from my cell. And turn off these canned messages… when I press 'voicemail' I don't want to hear the phone tell me I just pressed the voicemail button. If there was another reasonable phone out there to buy I would buy it.No wonder Nest is doing so well, no one can friggin work their thermostats… only a matter of time before they discover this market as well.

Excellent product. Great style and quality.
This is our third Panasonic cordless phone purchased over the past 20+ years. This purchase was made on the basis of our positive experience with Panasonic phones and we expect it to be no less reliable than the previous purchases. The additional features of noise reduction etc. will be a welcome feature as the base and the two additional phones are now connected to a wireless landline. The clean design, light weight additional features like Smartphone Connect will be very useful.

Item was not as pictured despite matching product numbers- missing an active button for the WiFi connectivity. Had to return and seller refunded purchase. Has to cancel order for additional handsets as well. No option to get item with active WiFi button. In the end never got a phone at all.
