Pathology: The Big Picture (LANGE The Big Picture)

Perfect for Step I Preparation
As someone who has used Pathoma and this, Pathoma does not hold a candle to this book. As soon as I opened this book I put my Pathoma on the shelf. This text picks up a lot of quality information that is left out of other review books. It has enough detail to give you what you need but also is more efficient than large texts, such as Robbins, for quick review. The pictures are great quality and often mirror pictures used in Qbanks. This review book will give you the information you need to succeed in first/second year classes as well as reviewing for USMLE Step I. There are spaces in the margins to add your own notes and the layout is well-organized/easy to navigate. There are also helpful practice questions provided at the end that will help you prepare for exams such as Step I. If you want a pathology review text that is thorough, detailed, and thoughtfully written with your success in mind, you will choose this one. Brilliant!

Goljan + this book = Golden
This book is really amazing. Whenever Goljan's falters, this book shines. While I would pick Goljan over this book if I had a choice between the two, let me say that the use of these two books in combination really is amazing because there really are some areas that Goljan are not as organized in, while this book is consistently amazingly organized (for example, goljan's repspiratory section did not break down the restrictive lung diseases into clear parts, while clearly done in this book), and not to mention the explanations are often clearer in these areas (and overall, imo) since they are not as bullet-point like.Get goljans, sure, but i really recommend also picking up a copy of this book if you had trouble stomaching goljan's bullet point stlyle, and like your longer descriptions, with just the right amount of detail. This book also has great images alongside the text (also something i liked over goljan) and is great for the visual learner.

Awesome quick path review
This is a great to-the-point review book. It was written from powerpoints used for USMLE review by the author at Texas. The students at his school score very high on USMLE, so take that for what it's worth. This book excels at pointing out visual features of diseases. Other review books often just state "asteroid bodies" (for example). But unless you have an awesome memory, you need to see the picture. This is a great review book that is often overlooked.

High yield, non-esoteric
Fantastic images that aren't the same, grainy ones used in every board review/ med school lecture on earthIncredibly high-yield and to the point - What you need to know only!

I thought it was the most helpful path book for ...
I thought it was the most helpful path book for medical school. It brakes pathology into manageable chunks and focuses on the most important/distinguishing features of pathology. Wish I had this book on day 1.

Good for class and boards
Another one of the very few pathology texts that is actually readable. This one tends to go into a bit more detail than BRS, but has less practice questions. The pictures are helpful, too.
