We like to bring a selection of little reading and craft books on our holidays as daily gifts for the children - to keep them occupied during travel and to have some activity other than their Ipad during the rest of the holiday. Its a family tradition, my parents spoiled me in a similar manner when I was young.These rub transfer sheets go back to the same era but our children love them. I always try to bring a few of these along on trips. Our oldest is a bit of history enthusiast, just like her dad, and has just been educated about Anglo Saxon history and the viking invasions at school, so although its not a very girly topic I reckon she will like it.

My 9 year old Son loves these (we 1st found them at the black country museum), & great as a stocking filler or for a craft day. Mainly bought this as it reminded me of the transfers I use to have a a child & these are exactly the same type.

My 4 year old worked diligently at this for an hour, and loved every second of it.
