Everyone needs to howl a whole lot more!
Straight from the off i consumed this book in one wolfish sitting. What a fantastic and sincere book and it took some balls to put this out there and the world is better for it. The book covers historical/fable werewolf aspects tied in with personal Magick practice from a well versed writer in the magick spectrum and to top it of a strong ecological message often sadly missing in many magick books , I as the writer believe Pagans/Wiccans/Eclectics etc really should be at the forefront of trying to save our planet. Now too werewolf's, this is tried and tested research with a willingness to prowl the prowl and the book literally has guts often consumed for real ! with a strong mix of Wiccan based magick and Shamanic like processes but equally does not attempt to say it is literal shamanic practice like so many new age style on line shamanic classes , how the hell can you learn shamanic ritual on line , So once again this book is a brave dive into your primitive self see what happens ... you might just find ya self howling at the moon .......

Not for or about therians, AND THAT'S A GOOD THING.
I don't get why all the other 'kin in the comments are complaining about this book. Animal magic and shapeshifting are not the sole property of any subgroup, and let's face it, when most people think of spirituality of this sort wolves pop into mind first and foremost. This book is for the everyman and average joe who wants a chance to bring some ferocity and wildness into their life and craft, not someone who is aware of an inherent animality of self (although it can definitely be used by those people!)This is about the real, deep understanding that EVERYONE has a primal part of themselves if they desire to tap into it. Besides, the smart and crafty practitioner can and will adapt these methods and ideas to other animals and even mythical creatures. Wolves and werewolves are just very ingrained in collective consciousness as the quintessential shapeshifters, and this book does an incredible job of focusing on self and nature as the only real tools someone needs to get in touch with that part of themselves, whether it's organic to their sense of self or created through the workings and concepts presented within.Seeing how much was dedicated to vocalization and animalistic movement and consciousness was refreshing, unique, wonderful, and above all, genuine. I've worked extensively with using those things as vehicles of magic and energy work, and seeing someone else not only do such a thing but writing an entire book on it is reassuring and exciting. In too many books of magic and dedicated websites, so much emphasis is put on the words and incantations themselves rather than the force and intent behind them, and that's all animal vocalizations in magic ARE.This book isn't for or about therianthropes or otherkin because it doesn't have to be and honestly shouldn't be. You either are or aren't those things, but anyone can learn to shapeshift and unleash their primal nature in life and magic. Giving people access to and ideas for such concepts existing outside those identities is vital and should be celebrated and encouraged, not berated. It wouldn't have been appropriate for the author to mention them because this book is more about becoming than discovery, and that's just as important if not moreso since it opens up avenues and abilities for people to explore being animal in ways that are more appropriate to them and their needs. This was a book that, in my opinion, needed to be written. Thank you, Mr. Sargent, for writing a fun, accessible, and practical guide for exercising and feeding your inner beast, regardless of how that beast came to be.

well written
This book is insightful a few tweak ups needed for the workings, but I also am super experienced with magic.

More than meets the untrained eye
It's a magnificent and deep book that can be utilized by beginners. It takes an eclectic approach because of the Authors honest and open lifestyle with ties to multiple lodges and covens. Now this book will call to certain people. Its laced with a magic of its only which only SOME are sensitive to. You will notice it in the introduction and dedications. On the surface it may seem disorganized but is really quite profound. I'm buying a second copy after my first was stolen. I only wish I could get a signed copy.
