Parakeet loves these wood blocks.They're just plain balsa wood, so perfect for her to chew on. If only I could think of a way to market all these wood shavings that end up all over the floor from her "hobby" - it almost makes me wish I had a fireplace, they would be perfect for kindling! And the price of these beats the 10 bucks I was paying for a balsa wood "log" for her to hollow out - she would attack those logs with such enthusiasm that it was costing me 30 bucks a month to keep her habit supplied! These are a better and safer alternative, though - I didn't like it when she would get one of the logs pretty well hollowed out - I was afraid she would smother in there or get poked by the wire holder that was on the log to hang it on. So these are a better deal, all around. I'll be buying more in the future. So glad I found these! Amazon, you ROCK!!!!!

First of all, this is not scrap wood. This is balsa wood which is intended for modeling, carving, etc. This wood is light weight for a purpose. I'm using this product to make my own modeled rc boat and the wood is very flexible to fit around the hull of my ship. I was speculating the quality of this product since I've seen many bad reviews of people who don't know the proper intended purpose of balsa wood. There are different objects in the bag for a purpose and if your expect the wood to be exactly measured to your convience and primed cut then your better off simply going to a hobby shop; these pieces can easily be cut to the demensions I need so that is definitely not a problem for me. The wood is soft and light weight containing about 25,5 by 3 1/2 balsa squares. About 4 stalks and 6 shorter stalks. A wooden cube that could be used for carving and overall this product fits my needs completely. This is not oak wood; this is balsa and it serves it's purpose completely. All of the negatvie reviews need to show some respect for their ignorance on purchasing wood online. I'm very pleased overall and hope to be buying more balsa from here.

Exactly as described .. clean & soft balsa wood that my parrot loves to chew. Of course, it doesn’t last too long.

I was looking for some balsa wood to use for sanding into "stands" for items on my display shelves; and decided to take a chance on this since it is about the only balsa wood I can find on Amazon (and there aren't any hobby shops near me).Unfortunately what I received is mostly pieces that are either flat sheets or thin dowels sized pieces - what I really needed was blocks. There was only one "block" piece in the bag large enough for what I need. However I may be able to glue some of the smaller pieces together to still make what I need.Based off some of the other reviews on here, it seems like these bags are just leftover scraps that this company is selling, and there is no consistency in what sizes you will receive.

These were great for making toys for the birds with. Something they could shred to pieces, which they did, without having to worry over it. I made the toys for a couple of parakeets (budgies) and their little beaks handled this wood just fine. It is relatively easy to work with, too.

There was one 1"x1"x2" block. The rest were just little sticks.

Un gros bloque qui ne serre à rien, du coup il n'y a pas tant de balsa en petite buchettes sympas.Les planches sont bien droite et lisse sinon.
