It was too good to be true
I was genuinely excited about buying this product, but the reality was very disappointing. I managed to get a sound out of it and it was the worst noise I have ever heard and I have a 4-year-old that does bloodcurdling screams!I guess I am sticking to playing the recorder.

It’s OK
Well it arrived promptly, too quickly as I was out & I thought it would arrive the following day.I can understand why in a lot of reviews for this & similar pocket saxophones people say that they don’t work, the reeds supplied are far too hard for a beginner.I play the tenor sax & thought it would be fun to have one of these, but I found it impossible to blow - maybe I wasn’t used to the smaller mouthpiece, but I have played alto before. So I put in a softer reed & it blows OK - not easy mind, I think the mouthpiece is not that good. The sound is not really like a sax, far more like a soft clarinet, but now I can blow notes on the thing I think it will be fun. Nobody could complain about the price. So anyone who bought one of these & is struggling to make a note on it, I’d recommend getting Some 1.5 strength alto reeds (one can get three for just over £6 on Amazon). You should be able to get started with these.

Cheap rubbish.
Awful. As someone who is very musical and has played many different instruments, don't buy this. It barely works and it sounds awful when it does work. Imagine a recorder which someone has tried to put a reed in, not a mini saxaphone.

all is not what it seems!
I am a musical person with 50years experience playing woodwind instruments and at least 20 years of experience playing brass instrumentseg. Sax.I was delighted to see such a fun lookking alternative to a proper Sax and excited to get started with it as soon as possible.Imagine my dismay when I found after some considerable time that I am unable to get a tune out of it, in fact the only noise to be had was a high pitched scream, certnly not a distinguoishable note!!I know that playing an instrument with a reed is not at all easy for a beginner and will require much practice to master the correct technique but with my experience I felt that after a couple of hours i would be starting to have some mastery of the instrument.I am very dissapointed and sad as I had high hopes. If in fact, if it had worked well I was going to purchase a few and encourage friends children and grand children to play hoping it might give them the impetus to be curious of other instruments and start to learn music!
