The Art of the Breath Simplified !
"The Hindu-Yogi Science of Breath" by Atkinson explains yoga as a physical, mental and spiritual art form which is perfected over time. Initially, practitioners seek to control the body while perfecting the art into a high spiritual experience. The idea is to direct the prana to vital organs as we breathe through the nostrils. In addition, our breathing can be enjoyed further by taking deep breaths and holding them in for short periods.The various breathing techniques are explained like high, low, mid-level and the yogi's complete breathing through the abdomen. Ultimately, an experienced practitioner can breathe through the bones in the form of a "Grand Breath". Overall, Atkinson's book is well organized and it develops the breathing techniques incrementally. The book is well written and easy to understand or interpret.

This review is for the Angelnook Publishing Book.I loaned out my old copy and never got it back, so just bought a new copy....does that tell you how much I like this book?I've read my share of these type of books, and this one is at the top of my list with Angelnook Publishing Books!If you believe that changing your thinking will change your life, that we can control our thoughts and by doing so improve our over all circumstances, you'll find this book extremely helpful.I must say one of my favorite books on this topic, I was very very surprised with this book. The book and chapter selection is nice and WAY more than I ever expected. I definitely did not expect to find such book treasure.I would recommend it for anyone.

While this book does give breath exercises,I was dissapointed in the fact that it did not have a larger varierty ofexercises that I was expecting.
