Packed full of helpful advice.
We have two Great Danes, one is obedience personified, the other is as stubborn as they come! This book proved a real godsend with its training pages but also helped in that it provided evidence that our boy is by no means the worst of the bunch!Certainly helps in understanding the hound's mindset, plus the book is easy to understand and therefore put into practise.

... - she was just very angry as she never liked Paul or being asked to do anything
I do assure you that Amy was not "distressed" - she was just very angry as she never liked Paul or being asked to do anything! She was wilful and arrogant but utterly wonderful and a very happy person. Troy (the blue in the book) was my rescue Dane who arrived starved and close to death. Had there been any real domineering with him it would have destroyed him completely and he was handled appropriately for a large and potentially dangerous dog. He turned into a happy, huge, well-trained softie who lived a very long time for a Dane - he reached 12. Both were loyal, well cared for companions who are still sorely missed, even after all these years. Lesley Bygrave

Disappointed
Very disappointed at the methods shown in this book. The advice given seems to advocate the "dominance" method and I found some of the illustrations quite unpleasant, with photos of Danes obviously distressed at being forced to obey commands.
