BRILLIANT AND UNFORGETTABLE
Cyn Mackley has done it again - writing a brilliant book which continues to show - without sentimentality - the aftermath of pedophilia on both men and women.Seth, left alone for a short time while Martie looks after her grandma who has had a hip replacement and gives seminars in another state, decides to "best" Wilma by focusing on Chloe, an eighteen year old victim of an unlamented, practised pedophile who has committed suicide. Martie, of course, knows that Seth is up to something, but just not what!Seth's beloved brother-in-law, the wonderful Brett, keeps Seth on the thin line between committing violence and maintaining a cunning distance. The Chat continues with loving support, along with Martie's new kitten.Mrs Mackley has given the reader a splendid book and I really would like to know if she plans another in the Seth and Martie series which is all too short. After all...the twist at the end is a masterpiece.I have every intention of reading the author's others series, but they will have to be outstanding to top this one. Well done, indeed!

Exceeds expectations!
What a great follow up to "What the Chat Dragged In". This gave me a whole different perspective on Seth, a character I admit made me a little uncomfortable in the first book. This really dug into his character and motivations. It made me really think about a subject that is uncomfortable and its long term effects. Great job Cyn Mackey. I can't wait for the next one!

Clear your calendar, you won't be able to put this down.
I didn't think I could be anymore impressed with Cyn Mackely, but she went and proved me wrong. This book is riveting, dynamic, heart-wrenching and therapeutic. The story is gripping, the characters are lovable and infuriating and the writing is phenomenal. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Good read
A nice ending for Seth and Martie. As always, the dialogue is fun and funny and the characters are endearing.

Hard to read well worth it
Any book that involves child abuse is hard to read. And this one is no exception. I will not go into my personal beliefs as what fate should happen to sexual predators, but hot irons, acids, and sharp knives come to mind. The author does a very nice job of showing the victims and shows that miracles happen and they become ok. I once had a doctor tell me he wanted to write about about survivors of physical and sexual abuse and title it, "How Did They Turn Out So Well." The pain never goes away, you learn to love the beauty around you.
