Not what I expected. Wasn’t prepared to make my own bourbon flavoring by adding packet to vodka and waiting weeks to use it. I should have bought what I needed at a liquor store.

Definitely not the flavor I expected while it aged in a mini barrel. I used the packet with Kirkland American Vodka. I taste tested every week for 12 weeks. Just too disgusting to drink. It is fine to add to cake mix or brownie mix. But I cannot serve this in a glass.

Upon opening the little package the smell was actually really good and I can see that the essence might be really good for cooking. I used it per the directions with vodka to make a bootleg whiskey. And I am not convinced. After adding the essence to the alcohol the bottle didn't smell like anything. I didn't expect a complex mix of different flavors but there was literally no smell at all. Same with the flavor. It tasted like I poured a shot of whiskey into a pint of vodka. Instead of a barrel I used an oak infusion spiral for aging. After adding I still don't get anything besides the flavors added from the oak. Like I said. It might be great for cooking but for making a bootleg whiskey it's really disappointing and quite useless.
