The Curiosity Box: The Seashore

The Seashore is great book all round. It is fun and informative and set out in an accessible way. There is so much information, but it is presented in a away that is not daunting. It is bright and colourful, with plenty of pictures to support the text.I didn't know the age of the target audience when I ordered and was hoping to explore it with my 3 year old. While we enjoyed looking at the book and tying it in with a visit to the beach it was a bit too far beyond her understanding.It will definitely be one to go back to in a couple of years.

Illustration and writing is "freestyle" - by which I mean, the pages lay out like a scrapbook of beach memories (use "see inside").A book to read before a visit to the beach and to consult when returning, with a collection of shells etc and photos.Lovely for adult to share with a child and support the learning experience, or to give to an older child to read by themself.The book is large format and not easily carriable when out on a beach though.

The lo and I saw this book in the library. Really impressed with the contents. Pages set out nicely and lots of information. Three questions at the bottom of the page to encourage the little ones to turn over and see the answers. Looking forward to being able to purchase my own copy for my childminding setting. Also interested in the other books in the series.
