Good read as always
Short volume but it’s really good. It’s also pretty sad.

Ouch, well written, 2 years pass somewhat painfully
This book provides a new environment (northern areas) and really delves into a messed up life aspect. It's well written and believable to understand how badly emotional misunderstandings can really throw people off. The core of the character is still there (helping others out-of-hand), but I liked seeing how the MC is alone and struggling (and failing) to come to terms with what happened to him. I also enjoy the other character perspectives that the author writes in. You get to see two different sides to situations and how they are viewed/interpreted differently by the different characters involved. Be advised, this book is ALL Rudeus and what he does for a couple years coping with how the previous book ended. There are two added sections at the end that touch back to a couple of the other ongoing story lines and where they are. I'm looking forward to reading the next book and seeing which aspect takes over.Only draw back was how short this book ended up being (200 pages). I burned through it in a few hours. The ending setup is very good. It just felt kind of odd hitting the end and realizing that the entire book basically revolved around one town he was in. Rudeus is in pain and the author did really well portraying it.

Great Story and so on
I came to this after watching the anime and man I love these light novels I’ve been thinking about switching to the manga version but I actually love the narrative in all of them I won’t be switching for now till I finish

Good but poor translation
There's a distinct difference in this volume compared to the previous 6. The translation and grammar are hit and miss. There are times when I have to skip over words because they just don't fit in a sentence at all. This volume is overdue for revision and adjustment.

Very sad volume.
*Potential spoilers*This volume follows the events after Eris abandons Rudius and is quite depressing, so be warned.Overall I feel that this volume expands much further on these events than it did in the web novel. In the previous version this part of the story was largely glossed over, and wasn't of much importance. But now it has became a larger part of Rudius's character development. Definitely a sad chapter in Rudius's life story, but if you didn't already have a special attachment to Rudius, they you most certainly will now.Don't worry though, thing get much better in the next volume. *Based on the web novel*

Another excellent addition to the series.
This book was a rollercoaster of emotions. Mainly focusing on one town and group of characters. Season 2 of the anime glazed over a lot of detail in this volume adapting the entire book in just Episode 1-3.

I’m sorry she smashed your heart little buddy....
Damn I don’t usually write reviews but this book.... it really showed great depth to each character from the two main party’s involved this time through. The author gave just enough fluff I feel for each party with out being over bearing. What I was most impressed with was how broken her leaving him like that was written out, it wasn’t hard to see how he felt the way he did and you could relate very easily to him for the most part. My only complaint... the books too short but it was a good stopping point I look forward to the next volume
