is there any way to use this at 12v and have the internal light ON when ON?

As long as voltage is 12 VAC it should light up as designed.

How do you wire this switch so that the light will work? Needs a wiring diagram in the description.

I no longer recall how I wired it but I just looked up standard wiring diagrams for industrial SPST illuminated switches online.

I'm assuming these will work fine at 12 volts?

Any switch that works at 110 volts will work in a 12 volt system. The amperage in a 12 volt system may be higher, but my switches were rated for 20 amps, which should be more than enough for most purposes.
