Q: Some users mention screws but the description by the company says the pole doesn't involve screws. Which is it please?

We have not found it necessary to use screws. There is a big spanner provided which causes the pole to extend so that it clamps tightly between floor and ceiling. Our pole is therefore secured by friction alone and doesn't budge. The top of the pole has rubber pads to aid friction. The bottom of the pole has fixing holes which will accommodate screws for additional fixity. As I said however, we haven't found screws to be necessary. It is an excellent product, which we are more than happy with.
