After reading the reviews I decided to go a size up to the King size, there is enough fabric to pull the spread over the pillows, rather than using shams. I don't know about you, but I love the look of the spread over the pillows (as in the old days) without shams. I have an 18th century mahogany four poster bed with a gorgeous head board....and now it shows really well without the shams. I washed (very gently) the spread, and dried it twice on low, cleaning the lint filter each time...then dried on normal/medium one time, and again cleaned the filter. There is no lint on the spread, and no lose threads either. I watched it going through the low spin cycle, then moved the spin cycle to medium, just for 3 minutes. It is gorgeous! I am so glad I got it. I also got the chenille spread in blue and the green in King size, as well, with no shams either. I really like the old look. I have to return the shams, although they are lovely also, and inexpensive! Just a hint, with the ivory spreads (being light weight) you can use any color underneath them, and a bit of color will show through giving you a whole new look. So for now, I used white sheets, and the ivory looks wonderful - have fun with them.What a find at such a reasonable cost!!

I have a platform bed and many bedspreads just don't cover with any decent drape but this one does. It IS just a bit heavier that I expected but it is better made, so I will accomodate to it. It washed very well, had a wee bit of odor when unpacked but that went away after one washing. And Shadow helped me test it <G>!!

I am keeping this product, but it wasn’t really what I was looking for. If you are looking for the sturdy chenille blanket like they made in the old days, this is not it. To me it is more like the weight of a tablecloth. The part that is not fluffy feels sort of rough and like crepe paper to me. It has a funny smell and throws off a lot of cottony dust in the air.

The picture showed two shames with it so I ordered it. No shames now I’ll have to hunt for them. Take the picture off so others won’t be taken.

Looks so beautiful and very well made. It had a LOT of chenille shed (common and I anticipated it) so I recommend doing what I did: Keep it in the washer for 5 complete heavy duty cycles - then tumble dry through at least that many cycles making sure to empty the lint trap about every 20-30 minutes.

A great bedspread. For Arizona, it is perfect: lightweight, yet warm when mornings are on the cool side. The pattern is lovely and color is rather ivory. It smooths perfectly and looks great. The size is perfect for a kingsize bed with kingsize pillows.

SHAMS SOLD SEPARATELY. Bought this for my beach house. Perfect weight for that bed. And so dressy looking. Love it

It fit my king bed like a queen size. Didn't touch the floor anywhere.
