Dorman 924-304 Door Check, Front Door, Left and Right Compatible with Select Cadillac / Chevrolet / GMC Models

Well I bought this in 2018 and here we are Dec 2021 and wind caught my door and broke it again..... I mean it lasted almost 3 years. Maybe I'll buy another one if the door trying to smash me bothers me enough.

Saw some negative reviews, but so far this door check rod is working great. Nice and smooth, does what it’s made for. Will update if anything changes. Verdict: good product

The part was great at first. Now it is making excessive noise from the sealed portion of this part, which is what I was trying to resolve by replacing. Either grease this internally before you install or you will get the joy of performing the repair twice.

Installed Jan 2020, fit perfect and works silently. I did not get the clicking sound others reported. I would suggest making sure of removing the door panel on your specific model, I figured all 2002 Chevy's would use the same clips but was wrong. In the case of my truck, some videos showed clips that pop out, in my case the clips should have been lifted up. (not a problem with the product but since you can't see the clips it would be easy to break one if you tried the wrong technique)Should it break I will report back with a date. Given the truck is already 18 years old I suspect you will not hear from me again.

Not much to say here. I was taken aback by the price of this thing. the springs must be expensive or something. easy to install and it fit perfectly. nice to have the door stay open now on a slight grade the doors are heavy. anyway the guy dropped it off and 2 hours later the part was installed and the truck was all vacuumed and such. easy peasy done. I like done.....

I was surprised that this door check was capable of holding the door open on my heavily sloped driveway. main reason I replace the existing one was a crack/pop when the door was opened or closed. very useful piece. I might even order one for the other front door on this old truck.
