Hi Brenda! I can tell you that there is 60mg of sodium per 1/4 tsp so, yes, it is a fine salt with the best buttery taste you'll find. The only alternative I can offer would be Butter Buds with 60mg sodium per 1 tsp, but the flavor can not be compared. Unless you're eating great quantities of pop corn using this product on a daily basis, or suffer from high blood pressure being treated with medication, you will find Kernel Season's Butter Seasoning a wonderful addition to your homemade pop corn. FYI - their Bacon Cheddar Seasoning is also top notch!

Q: How do you make this "stick" to popcorn?

I use spray butter, not the aerosol type, but the pump bottle (I can't believe it's not butter). Tastes much better than the aerosol and it doesn't take very much. So a small bottle lasts a long time. Then the powdered flavoring will stick very well. Which means you can use less of that also. I hope this helps.
