My husband is the kind of guy who gives whisky/scotch tastings to all our friends and the friends of our older son who have just entered the corporate world and want to know about the finer things in life. I thought it was about time he had some proper glasses for this and ordered four of these. He's been using our Waterford 'rocks' glasses which have an standard opening without any tapering. I personally hate scotch and whiskey -- but I love a nicely designed glass and I like to see him enjoy the few pleasures he has time for...AND I will go to great lengths to find a suitable vessel for a worthy beverage. These arrived today and I made him have a little taste of scotch with lunch to try them out. It didn't take much coaxing as he had just gotten a nice bottle of something from one of his buddies for Christmas. He was surprised at how much it enhanced his enjoyment of the amber-colored liquor by funneling the smell right up to his finely tuned vapor-detecting nose. I liked them a lot, too, as they just feel good in your hand. SO - I actually wrapped them up to give to two friends we had dinner with tonight as a gift - and will have to order four more for my husband. Good item at a good price.

Pros:- Excellent weight and hand feel.- Tapered shape collects the nose of both spirits and beers well.- Size is great for beer bottle shares or decent size pours at home for both beer and whisky.- Thick bottom adds durability and the option to slow warming by holding there or the thin sides.Cons:- Not a great size for whisky tastings.- Wide rim spreads the sip out a little farther than ideal on the tongue, though only an issue when haphazard in tasting.... So only an issue several pours in.Overall: I love these glasses. They function really well and, beyond looking stunning, suit most of my needs for a glass. I would, and probably will, get another set of these.

These glasses are so ergonomic, they fit so well into your hand. So easy to grip and hold on to, and the opening is awesome for getting the tasting notes of whatever you might be imbibing. Highly recommended.

I'm not sure I got what I ordered. The glasses are shaped like this, but none of them has the maple leaf symbol on the bottom. That was a bit disappointing.Update: After contacting Lily's Home about receiving glasses that did not have the Canadian Maple leaf etching they quickly sent out the proper glasses and didn't even ask me to return the originals. Excellent service, and I'm delighted with the glasses I ultimately received. They feel and look great. I agree with another reviewer that they do tend to funnel alcohol fumes into your nose...However an easy adaptation is to enjoy the aroma of your Scotch from the edge of the glass (not from inside of it). Do not inhale while sipping (when your nose is in the glass) but only after you've taken the sip into your mouth. Works well for me. YMMV.

We love these glasses for whiskey drinks.Having the weighed-type bottom and the flute-like shape makes them allow the whiskey to speak for itself.

Has that nice, Glencairn glass lip, looks nice, and still helps to concentrate the aroma a bit (not as much as a regular Glencairn, but still does the job). Big enough to add larger ice cubes that will melt slower, if ice in Whisky/Whiskey is your thing. Can be a bit delicate, so I recommend you wash them immediately after use, so they don't sit in your sink or counter just waiting to get broken.

One of the four glasses was shattered on arrival. The seller would not send me a replacement, instead suggested I return them all to Amazon for a refund. Well, three of the glasses were usable so I decided to keep them. They are good for sipping cognac. The crystal is pretty thin but solid on the bottom. The maple leaf logo is off center on the bottom and not exactly "etched" into the glass. There is no indication where these glasses are actually made but I doubt if they are from Scotland, Canada, or domestic. When I buy a bottle of XO, you can be sure I will look for a better quality glass.
