WMFProfessional Plus Mesh Strainer and Skimmer, Stainless Steel, 30cm, Cream

This item took quite some time to get delivered and I've ordered a few things from Japan already before but it came through a day later than scheduled and was well packed and a true authentic WMF item despite the odd name in the product listing (evil takes just sounds shady).There isn't much else to be said about this skimming ladle (or a small sieve with a vertical handle) besides it being a quality product made of stainless steel that won't rust, looks great in a modern home and while it took its time to get here, proved to be the real deal.

If the liquid is the fat on top of water/stock/meat juices etc and the mesh size is very fine then it works really well. You have to be pretty quick to transfer the fat before it starts dripping through. It completely transformed that aspect of cooking - no more chasing fat around with a spoon (and collecting plenty of stock as well) or using those horrible plastic jugs with the low-origin spouts (which are fiddly, messy and leave you with a choice of impossible hand-cleaning or letting them get destroyed after a few dishwasher trips).
