I dont know how they are selling this for $40
So i have been using this mouse for about a year now and I am loving it. I play CSGO and i was playing on a cheap mouse i got included with my pc. So i was looking for a mouse and i was looking for many hours and i stumbled upon this one. Ok first of all this is like a medium to large mouse. I have a small hand but the grooves and rubber sides really make this mouse comfortable in the hand. It has a nice rubber coating that is very comfortable and soft to the touch but if you have sweaty hands like me, this may be an issue because it gets the mouse wet which as you know makes this mouse uncomfortable at times. It has a slightly weighted body that is perfect to lift off. This mouse also has 2 foward and backward buttons which are pretty useful at times. You can set them to do any function in any games you play. The mouse wheel is pretty good with decent scroll steps and with an ok middle click. It also has a dpi sensor with two modes only, disappointing but with me just playing CSGO switching from sniper to a rifle, and its maximum of 6500dpi, im not really complaining. And not most important to me but nice to have is its RGB lighting on the steelseries logo and the scroll wheel is a nice touch. But overall with it hanging around the $40 dollar price mark and it being just as good or maybe even better than most mice that cost an additional 20 dollars, this is a steal for your first mouse or even new favorite mouse.Pros: Comfortable rubber side grips, very accurate sensor, back lighting, and great body shapeCons: Right handed only, may collect sweat if your palms sweat, no rubber cable,Anyway if the cons dont affect you, then this mouse may be for you. Thank you for reading and good luck finding your new mouse. I hope I helped you. :D

The Definitive Gamer's Mouse (move aside Deathadder!)
The SteelSeries Rival 300 is awesome, underrated, high-end gaming mouse REPLACING my Razer Deathadder as my daily driver. First a little about me: I've personally used 3 Death Adders, a mamba, a naga hex, and the Anker 8200. I previously went through mice quickly because I played StarCraft 2 at a college-competitive level. I've now transitioned into more casual gaming (mainly Overwatch). If you are in the market for a new mouse (which I assume you are if you're reading this), please first google "Mice using flawless sensors by H1ghlander" He is an active member of the Overclock & PClab communities, and his spreadsheet contains ALL the objective metrics for mice with perfect sensors. If you care about mouse accuracy, buy a mouse on this list (and not some generic Chinese brand or red dragon crap)[...]Next, I want to address some specifics about this mouse. I'll do a lot of comparisons with the Razer Deathadder.Ergonomics: Razer is a little bigger/round and is the slightest more comfortable for a resting palm position. I am a palm gripper, however I prefer the ergonomics of the Rival 300 more because it has a narrower choke for my thumb position. I feel this gives me more control while gaming, but the DA was more comfortable for office work. The DA was slightly heavier than the Rival.Buttons: Just like mechanical keyboards are hard to describe to a non-mech keyboard user, this mouse's buttons are better than ANYTHING I've ever used. I love the tactile feel of the Left and Right click, and I love the thumb buttons. This was a huge reason why I switched off the deathadder.Software/Sensitivity: Check that spreadsheet I posted, it lists optimal DPI/CPI settings for each mouse. The precision between the Rival and the DA are about on par. You'll read all over the internet about a "skipping" bug. I decided to test the claims. With the drivers that the mice shipped with, the mouse indeed DID skip on 1 of my 4 PC's, but not on the other 3. I was finally able to figure out what caused the seemingly random skipping. Within certain games, using a button bound to Quick CPI Change (upper middle by default) would sometimes cause the skipping (especially when bumping on accident). An easy fix was just to change what that button is bound to (I changed it to emote). After I updated to the most recent Steel Series driver, the issue was resolved on that 1 computer. Please do NOT be dissuaded by past negative reviews regarding the skip issue. It is easily fixed and has be since patched. The Rival 300 is the best mouse I have personally use it and I enthusiastically recommend it!

notice i think its fine for casual users maybe
hello i have been an FPS gamer with a high sensitivity, and have played computer games since the late 90s.i am now mostly an FPS/MMORPG player. i wanted this mouse because on the pro side the buttons never interfere with your hands. along with some other reasons, i thought the design would be fitting to my hand.i have small hands.i am giving this a 1 because it is semi-defective.notice i think its fine for casual users maybe.when i first got the mouse it came with .32 version firmware for the mouse when they are now on about .104 version. updating the firmware fixed some of the tracking issues.now take in mind i play with about over 5 sens for gamers. this mouse with the firmware installed and above 400 dpi and above 125hz polling rate basically skipped about 3-5 steps. with the firmware installed only 1 to 2 steps from left to right tracking a corner 70 degree turn.it has very shoddy workmanship compared to the kanav1 and the kinzuv2. basically that slippery white plastic part when it mixed with the touch grip gray creates an indentation that is basically flimsy it is somewhat detached and gets in the way of every turn i make.for mmorpg casual it was fine. but then i went on to do further tests. i increased my own hertz rate by drinking redbulls and monster energy drinks while playing FPS.then i messed around with different configurations from 600 to 900 dpi. it seems that basically the software/firmware mix of the pixart sensor is too "virtual" it lacks dedication and it doesn't create vorpal fields like the synapse connected razer would do on a low-fi pc, but basically the polling/dpi/accell quantifier is numerically asymtoptic in some modes.i didn't like that it slowed down my playing as it feels like mostly empty plastic, and the software is designed good its better than the first steelseries engine but the options create chaos.also, mine was glitched with this thing where the cursor basically the sensor would reset to the top left corner about every half hour at least.hopefully they increase the quality of these rival mice. take note that i also have a rival 100. i would recommend rival 100 max it is pretty sturdy except for the weird complex curvature of the palm grip at first, the only problem i had with using that is that it only allows for 500dpi or 1000dpi when im a 800 dpi player. 1000dpi is to virtual/flimsy for me and 400dpi is 2 old school. take in mind that during some of the tests i was over intoxicated on things you wouldnt notice.the bright thing about this chromatic lighting is that its beautiful, and it doesn't leave your palm all sweaty you just have to turn off the light on some mice. its a low-energy led that is further behind the chassis.overall i was disappointed with steelseries turn over from their older more stable models. the sensor is definetly more dynamic when aiming than the kana for example, and getting headshots is easy with the horizontalized form factor on solid ground because this mouse is thick.last thing is from previous mice as well, the scroll wheel is really really flimsy you can bend it left and right without effort and it feels like really cheap plastic, but it clicks fine its just not in taste to touch it is too thin and hollowesque for the size of this mouse.so yeah, definitely not as good as it looks.
