I need this as a bike lock, is the hole big enough to fit one

Hi, that's exactly why I have ours for my daughters bike, the Galvanised bracket is very strong and well made, the hook part is 1 1/4", and I've used 1" Galvanised chain, the padlock is extra, I did use 3" heavy duty screws and 8mm raw plugs. Definitely worth the money and obviously looks a solid deterrent, I personally recommend providing you get the quality one, seen some on other site begins with E ends in Y didn't look particularly good.. take care..

What are the dimensions of the eye? As need to get a chain through it and want to be sure it fits. Thanks

The dimensions are from the backplate to the inside of the eye, 21mm. Across the inside of the eye, 14.5mm at the narrowest point.

Can you tell me what size screws I’d need with this?

The screw you would require is a No.8 screw, the length is down to your requirements.

Would this be okay to use for a rope washing line

The item should be easily strong enough, I use mine in the garage so it does not get wet and so I can't comment on how rust proof it is, but it looks good to me.
