Dr. Chesky's Magnificent, Fabulous, Absurd & Insane Musical Show

I just loved one track. The Storm. Everyone thinks its actually raining outside. So that's the only track I use to show off my HT. None of the other tracks were good or impressive.

I purchased this DVD to evaluate my new surround sound speaker system, inculding receiver and cables. I was disappointed first of all that this was called a DVD. I thought when you purchased a DVD you not only got sound but video to compliment the sound. If I had the option to review this DVD before buying, I would not have purchased it. I'm still interesed in finding a better DVD.

Not worth the money. Get a good cd or dvd instead. What a waste of money.

I have a well-calibrated surround sound system and was interested in this product as it seemed that it might be useful for showing off my gear.I can sort of use it for that...depending on the audience. If the audience has already experienced a decent 5.1 encoded DVD, this disc will bore them.The 5.1 mix seems "sterile" - as though the goal was to throw a particular sound exclusively to a channel. While it's true that putting 5 discrete sounds in 5 discrete channels will demonstrate a 5.1 system, half of the tracks on this disc seem to do nothing more than that. In that half, there's no depth...and frankly not much compelling content to listen to.The other half of the tracks do a decent job of showing off the audio system at-large, a scant few do justice at showing how powerful and immersive a quality 5.1 mix can be for the listener.

.... eine vielzahl diverser Klänge aus verschiedenen Genres. Für einen anspruchsvollen Zuhörer sehr empfehlenswert. Ob Chorklänge, Gewittersound oder Herzschlagtöne - alles kommt sehr räumlich rüber. Zudem ist diese DVD Audio (gibt es auch als SACD) eine Reifeprüfung für ihren Subwoofer.Einziger Widerspruch ansich: hochauflösende DVD Audio Spur 96kHz/24bit und die normale DVD Videospur nur in Dolby Digital.Herr Dr. Chesky wußte wohl nicht, dass es auch DTS 96/24 gibt???Damit ist diese DVD-Audio wirklich nur für Hörer mit entsprechender Hardware geeignet. (DVD-Audio Player)Merkwürdig fand ich die Hülle dieser DVD-Audio. Dies ist eine normale DVD Video Hülle - der Einleger widerum hat die Größe einer DVD-Audio Hülle und kann somit garnicht in dafür vorgesehenen Bookletklemmen eingelegt werden und rutscht dadurch in der Hülle frei umher?????Zur Erklärung: Normalerweise wird das Medium DVD-Audio in einer sogenannten Super Jewel Box plus vermarktet. Hintergrund dafür war, dass sich die DVD-Audio optisch sofort von der normalen Video DVD absetzt.Änlich der SACD die anfangs fast ausschließlich im Super Jewel Case veröffentlicht wurde.Dies schadet natürlich nicht dem Hörvergnügen - daher gibt es auch volle 5 Sterne.

Der Sound ist einfach umwerfend.Guter Test für die Boxen.Der ganzen Familie macht es Spaß zuzuhören.Sehr gut gefallen mir die tanzenden Trommeln, das Gewitter und die Metro.Der Herzschlag am Ende ist ein Test für den Subwoofer.
