Paperthinks 9 x 13-Inches Shiny Deep Olive Recycled Leather File Folder (PT00915)

I am really disappointed in this leather file folder. I ordered it months ago and, in spite of my repeated attempts to clean it and air it out, it continues to have a weird, unpleasant, chemical smell. I do not want to use it at all for fear that the smell will transfer to anything stored with it. Such a shame.

I ordered these folders mostly out of curiosity -- I was lookin for a sturdy folder that I could tuck into my purse/briefcase for carrying writing projects around. I initially did a search for "leather folders" and this one popped up. The price was great; the colors fun, so I thought I'd give it a whirl, trying to imagine what "recycled leather" was.Well, it smells like leather. The outside feels like a cross between leather and paper -- thicker than paper, smooth, great color. Inside, you can see how it's recycled leather. It's as if someone took a lot of leather, ground it up into tiny bits, and then pressed it into the shape of these great envelopes.Bottom line: It's WAY sturdier than paper, great for putting folders that might get some abuse (like my purse), and easily holds at least 20 sheets of 8 1/2 x 11 paper. I like the slight leather scent, as well.I plan on ordering these in other colors, which will help organize projects.This product is definitely a win for me.

The leather envelope-style folder is a beautiful alternative to the bulky and masculine look of the traditional business portfolio. I bought one in a classic ivory to bring with me on interviews to hold copies of my résumé and stash away thank you cards to write after the event. The leather is sturdy and substantial so that it doesn't lose shape and disfigure my papers while it's in my bag.I did have an issue with the fastener coming off. It's a simple fix as long as you don't lose the tiny parts; simply twist the pieces back together and you're good to go. The light colour of the leather makes any flaws and disfigurements on the leather highly apparent, so keep this in mind when choosing a colour. I have a tiny flaw on the surface from what is probably caused by normal purse jostling.I've received compliments from interviewers because recycled leather is such a cool concept! The envelope looks fresh and modern, so take it with you to give yourself a little aesthetic edge.

Got this for my grad school interviews and was exactly what I was looking for. Because the leather is a little on the softer side, I recommend keeping the cardboard insert inside to prevent creasing/wrinkling of papers! Got complemented tons on it too! :)

Love the concept of this. I keep it in my backpack with all my travel docs and it makes me feel so much more put together than a paper clip or plain file folder. I love that it's got more firmness to it than a standard envelope cause it holds up better in my backpack that way. I've also used this to carry with me on job interviews and it just comes across really professional and polished.

I typically buy plastic file folders, which need to be replaced often. I don't think I will have the same issue with this leather folder. It's very sturdy. I actually placed two think notebooks in it. While it made it slightly more difficult to close the latch on the folder, the flat stayed down.As with many leather products, there is a slight odor when you unwrap the item. However, it disappeared very quickly.This works well for my needs- I love it. I am trying to make up an excuse to purchase another one, even though I don't need it.

I love leather. While this folder is not lined on the inside like Leatherology it also doesn’t have the large price tag either. As a person who owns both paperthinks and leatherology I can easily say I was pleasantly surprised with this purchase so much so I also ordered the green. These even smell like really good leather and I love that scent.

I was looking for something to carry in my brief case for the very few papers I need to have with me. Most everything today is in digital form, but nevertheless there are times when I need to carry a few pasges of honest'to'goodness paper. This very thin letter'size leather envelope is exactly what I needed. It is so thin it takes up almost no space. Because it is leather it looks sharp and professional - in contrast with a dog-eared paper folder. The closure is a small silver stud that holds the flap. I really don't think it is required to have such a secure grip, but it works fine, looks good and I like it. I would not hestiate to recommend this product.

I had expected it to be on the delicate side. It is, but not sloppily so. It holds my I Have To Do paper just fine and looks good.

Envelope is flimsy and difficult to open/close without breaking the latch.
