Eccentric and excellent
Has become a favorite book. A wonderful narrator character, finely tuned prose, an indescribable experience to read. Truly incomparable, meaning that I can’t think of anything to compare it with. I read it twice, and keep a copy on the coffee table so I can pick it up and read a few paragraphs or pages at random. Very amusing, very entertaining, and very far out there.

A Delicious Eccentric Wonderland!
This is the most splendid book! If you love Leonora’s paintings as I did prior to discovering this book then this will be a delectable treat for you. I feel as though the characters are old friends and I had a small taste of their bizarre and beautiful world. Simply wonderful!

The Surrealist Classic
What did I use this product for? To enter into the world of Breton, Ernst, Buñuel et al. Carrington's work is fantastic, on canvas or in print. The story is entrancing.

LOVED THE MAIN CHARACTER.
WOULD LIKE TO SEE HER AS A DETECTIVE IN MAINSTREAM LITERATURE. THE PLOT WAS A BIT FAR OUT FOR MY GENERAL READING TASTE. BUT THE CHARACTERS AND THEIR ENVIRONMENT WERE FANTASTIC. BUT IT'S WORTH READING.

Refreshing
Entertaining, humorous and the feel of the Golden Girls meets Salvador Dali. The humanity in it is what makes it work. How often are nursing home ladies the heroines of a novel?

Surreal
The artist was a surreal painter. I never thought a book could be surreal but this is. It's a dandy little gem that really should have acclaim.

A Surreal Read
The novel is an entertaining, dream-like, surreal read. It was originally written in 1974 and has recently been re-issued. Reading about Leonora Carrington's life among the Surrealists was almost as enjoyable as reading her book.

Original!
This is an amazing work. What I found original and fun was the use of fantasy that was done in part tongue in cheek.
