The media could not be loaded. I play piano, but they are not the most portable of the musical instruments. Melodicas solve the portability problem! It is a wind instrument which sounds more like an accordion than a piano. If you've never played a wind instrument, then you are in for a lung workout! Playing single notes shouldn't be too hard for the uninitiated. On the other hand, playing more notes simultaneously will require more air and breath control and can lead to a bit of light-headedness. You have been warned! I play trombone, so this instrument helps me with my breath control.There are two mouthpieces that come with this melodica: a short mouthpiece, and a mouthpiece attached to a tube. The short mouthpiece is cylindrical and allows you to play the melodica as you would a trumpet. The other mouthpiece is rectangular with a bite guard; the tube allows the melodica to be played on a table-top surface. My preference was the latter, because I found that too much air leaked out of the corners of my mouth when I played the short mouthpiece. I also think that the embouchure for the rectangular mouthpiece is closer to what I use for playing trombone.I checked the melodica against an electric tuner and found the notes to play in tune up and down the keyboard.My package came with a bonus mini-harmonica necklace!This instrument is fun to play. It's suited for playing accompaniment in small groups (just playing chords). You can also use it as a solo instrument (playing single-note melodies). While it is possible, I wouldn't recommend playing chords and melody at the same time, because playing more than 4 notes simultaneously requires a large air supply!

I have been a Performing Arts Director for Eight Years, and Melodica is my main instrument. This melodica comes with a really fun bag, and lots of little extras like stickers, a harmonica necklace, and a how-to guide. It is really easy to play, and the mid-notes are the strongest on the instrument. The sound quality is on par with all the other melodicas within the 15-100 dollar price range, as well as the intonation, which is a little off but not noticeable for new players. The craftsmanship is 98% perfect, and only professional melodica players will notice any defects. I'd say this is a really solid buy for the price.

This is a great keyboard for a beginner, especially a child! It was packaged very well and easy to set up. The keyboard is super lightweight and was easy for my 6 year old to carry. It comes with an ac adapter and a microphone. The music stand can be removed as well. The keys are not full size or weighted but the LCD display is very nice and shows the notes you are playing. There are tons of sounds and beats to choose from! My son is LOVING this keyboard and it is great for the price. Comparable to name brand keyboards I had growing up, but much more affordable.

Great until you get to the high notes!

It’s very light weight and I think it is better that way it’s very portable you can even put batteries in it and plug it the sound quality it good for a 60$ piano I mean if you want a good sounding piano you’ll get it for 250$ 800$ if you want a good electronic piano like the Yamaha piano for 800 sounds very high quality and great but over all good for beginners the keys were not small for me and good for beginner learning.

Gifted this to my bother and he is just loving it. Was a great purchase at such a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend it to buy especially if you are a beginner and just started to learn the keyboard. Also, it is very lightweight with a whole lot of good beats.

I bought this keyboard because it advertised that it could record keys played. I've done this with keyboards before, and it's an excellent technique for developing harmonies and practicing other instruments with backup. For example, if I want to learn a fiddle tune I record a bassline and chords on the keyboard and then play that back as I practice the fiddle against that backup. But I don't see how they can claim a record function for this keyboard. If you press a chord, only a random few of the notes sound. When you play it back, the notes don't play at once. They chime in one at a time! Even playing just two notes at once, such as a bassline and melody, is worthless because when you play it back the notes don't sound at the same time. And you get only a few seconds of record time!!! A quarter of the way into a song it runs out of memory and stops recording. I wish returning this big thing were easier, because it's worthless to me. How dare they advertise recording ability for this piece of junk!Update:Upon reading my negative review, the seller contacted me and offered me money to revise the review, so I will revise it with the information they provided to me (and which the SHOULD include in the description!). By design it is not able to record chords, only one note at a time, and their memory limit is 84 notes. I would not have purchased it if they had made this clear in their description.

This is a fun instrument to have around the house. I love to play around on it, my 2nd grader loves it, and my dog must love it, too... because she howls like a banshee when we play it.The sound is good, and it's loud. All fortissimo, not so much pianissimo.
