Replacement Gas Cylinder (Piston) Fits Aeron Chair

Perfect replacement! I had to use the hammer + socket method to remove the old one then this was perfect fit- chair is like new again!

Unfortunately it did not work for me. Replacement worked and everything fit on the original Aeron chair, but the chair is slowly lowering itself. Within a minute it's all the way at the bottom, it doesn't no hold the pressure. If anyone has any ideas how to fix it, please share. Thus far I think it's the cylinders fault.

Perfect replacement for my Herman Miller Aeron chair.

I successfully repaired an Aeron chair without prior experience. I have assembled furniture from places like Ikea, but the chair was a very different beast. Since there aren't printed instructions, the vendor's video was key to success. I see one review where the customer couldn't make the replacement cylinder fit -- this was the place where I almost gave up. but I understood after watching the video again. I wish their Amazon product support pages had the same information written out. There are other vendors on Amazon with similarly priced cylinder replacements, so this item's cost was in the right ballpark. It enabled me to do the repair, though I take off one star because of the slight deficiency in written instructions.

I needed the part because the Aeron chair is the best chair in the world! It is comfortable, supportive and does not cut your blood flow!

Removing the old cylinder was a pain but installing the new cylinder was a breeze.

It should've been more scrutinized, as it doesn't fit Herman Miller Aeron Chair. There is a round fitting plastic cap on top of the cylinder base (black part). For it to fit, that fitting should fit all the way flush with the top of hole in the chair base. I attached the picture, the piston is at least 3 inches above where it should be. IT DOES NOT FIT the Herman Miller Aeron Chair.

It does what it is supposed to do, fit was good.
