Hillman 47812 TimberTite Landscape Screw, 1/4" x 4", 50-Pack, 50 Count

Making outside planters in pine and using the 4' screws to hold the corners. The screw don't bite out and hold very well. No messed up heads.

Impact driver (not air wrench), with supplied 5/16" hex bit does not slip. Can be driven flush below the surface of 2x4, when needed. Can use ordinary ratchet + socket for tight quarters. Much better than HeadLok Star Drive for my purposes.I will not buy the fancier HeadLok Star Drive style ever again. Using same Impact driver, I trashed the “HeadLok High Speed Steel Spider Driver/Drill Bit” after driving only 12 screws (4” into spruce framing), with an impact driver (not air wrench). Tried #3 Phillips bit, which works fine until it strips the head rendering the screws tamper-proof! To remove the damaged screws, I will need to use a screw extractor. To use the rest of the HeadLok box I have to get another proprietary bit or two, $5, to use up $15 worth of screws. That must be why you get a free bit in every box.

This product is amazing. It takes the place of having to use multiple wood screws when you can use one of these. It is a bit pricey however.

Have used screws similar to these but longer. Works great for attaching 2 x 4's to 4x4's and does a super job. Easy to install, I did use a pilot hole, however, don't think I really needed it. Threads and point are extremely sharp. A great landscaping screw.
