Dignity

Okay. Let me start by saying that I've always HATED Hilary Duff. Don't know why, never heard her old music, just hated her for no good reason. I bought this cd on a whim cause I saw it had already gotten good reviews. That said, I have to say that I actually like it! Think Britney mixed with Kylie mixed with Hilary type bubble gum pop...it's actually good. I'm not saying I'd tell all of my friends to go out and buy this-the reason I rated it 5 instead of 4 is because I bought a couple of other cd's at the same time that I can't stand to even skip through, much less listen all the way through as I'm doing right now with this one. :)All in all-it's good. And if you're reading this far, you're already considering it, so why not spring for it and see if you agree? :)

This CD is good. My personal favorite CD of Hilary's is her 2nd, self titled, one: "Hilary Duff". But yeah this one is really good! It is more mature but not in like a sluty way like some stars tend to do when they get older.My favorite songs are: Stranger, Dignity, With Love, Happy, and Play with Fire. But actually all of them are really good. And Hilary was part of the writing process for each of the songs on this album. I the past she hasn't written her own songs. But this time she did, not alone of course. But it is all her and it is definately worth the buy!Oh and I love her new look with brown hair, she really looks great!

This is a very enjoyable album from Hilary Duff. The songs are really good.

This disc is an interesting mixing of paces that very guessed right his title give a Dignity different from the interpretacion and his musical identity like it we know in his previous presentations.Este disco es una interesante mezcla de ritmos que muy acertado su titulo dan una Dignidad distinta a las interpretacion y su identidad musical como la conocemos en sus anteriores presentaciones.

The disc version with bonus DVD is amazing!!! Very happy with this purchase and this is hands down Hilary's best album!

She is my favorite singer and I enjoyed listening to her music.

With the explosion of teen pop in the late 1990's, dominated by Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, its understandable if you overlooked (ignored) a wannabe pop princess or two, unless you were an adolescent at that time. As the new millennium got underway and these teenyboppers began careening toward adulthood, they tried with widely varying degrees of success to gain credibility as artists. No small feat. Indeed anyone who enters the teen pop industry is practically assured of having to navigate some choppy waters as they and their audience grow older, the saccharine sounds that brought them fame not weathering beyond a couple of years.Hilary Duff is one such teen queen who was easy to overlook (ignore) if, like me, you were well past adolescence when she made a name for herself. What with Britney, Christina and later Jessica Simpson plastered everywhere, who needed another cutesy blonde? Time has passed and while the aforementioned singers have gone on to marriages, divorces, parenthood and tabloid escapades, Duff has gone from cutesy blonde to striking brunette and evolved from sugary teen pop to young adult fare. Her latest album, Dignity, says right off the bat that Lizzie McGuire is no more. For those who are willing to listen, Dignity is a surprisingly enjoyable affair, mixing slick, contemporary beats and blaring guitars with youthful appeal. Duff is no great singer by any stretch of the imagination, but she's at least as listenable as Britney or Jessica, if not more so.Songs like the dark, driving "Stranger", the stinging title track and "With Love" with its electronic beeps and guitars prove extremely catchy, while the unconventional "Gypsy Woman" shows a maturing style. "No Work, All Play" takes on the much-used topic of accepting yourself as you are, and not running from life's rough times, but its married to such a wonderful melody and musical flourishes that any clichés can be forgiven. Guitar-driven "I Wish" has the slightly retro sheen of pop from the late 1980's to early 1990's, while songs like "Never Stop" and "Between You and Me" are more bubblegum- no doubt meant to appeal to her fans. On the whole this album shows Hilary Duff as no longer a girl, but not the hyper-sexualized woman that several other teen pop starlets have become (her recent Maxim photo shoot notwithstanding).With the glut of highly-stylized pop personas that exist today, Duff still has a way to go to stand out from the crowd, but Dignity is a step in the right direction.

Llego a tiempo, en excelentes condiciones y sobre todo que después de 16 años que salió a la venta por fin lo tengo!!Vale la pena pedirlo y tenerlo de colección por qué ya no se encuentran en tiendas físicas.

Dieses Album, das schon im Jahr 2006 aufgenommen wurde, ist der Eintritt in die neue Pop-Musik-Ära (damals wurde auch Lady Gaga's erstes Album veröffentlicht).Vor allem hört man einen wertvollen Text in jedem Lied, was leider eher eine Ausnahme in der Pop-Musik Welt ist. Es gibt keinen Song, der nicht als Single betrachtet werden könnte.Der Titel - Dignity beschreibt perfekt was eigentlich dieses CD ist - ein Pop-Masterpiece, der nach Jahren immer noch frisch und einzigartig klingen wird. Und Hilary wird sich niemals für diese Veröffentlichung schämen müssen.

Dignity is some real solid talent on show by Hilary Duff for her rock talent. It goes to prove how multifaceted she is. It is a metamorphosed manifestation of earlier albums - Metamorphosis, Hilary Duff. There is great maturity in both lyrical content, musical design and artistry. I would strongly recommend this to all Hilary duff fans and esp. to even rock lovers. Tracks such as Stranger, Dignity, With Love, Danger are simply show-stealers. Very very upbeat combined with hilary's superb voice, dynamics and the way she makes me feel rocking listening to these songs is simply an understatement to this testimony. Gypsy woman is on a slightly different line as far as the theme is concerned- it is about women who cheat men. But still it has a feel good effect to it. Never Stop, No work All Play, Between You and Me and the rest of the tracks are even more brilliant. The catch of this album is not only the mesmerising backgrounds, hilary's sweet voice, the stuff that the lyrics portray but also the overall feel good factor for all the songs that has been kept in mind while designing the song. Way to go hilary. A brilliant buy in my opinion.
