King & PrioryOlive Green & Brown Check Bow Tie, Tweed, Tartan, Plaid

I've been looking for these tweed bow ties with the traditional "British tweed" patterns for forever. So when I stumbled on these King & Priory bow ties, I was definitely excited at the find and ordered a pair of them. Once I received them, however, I was a little bit disappointed; as shown in the pictures above, the tweed material only extends as far as the bow tie itself so the rest of the strap is this flimsier black satin-like ribbon material. On top of that, the H&M pre-tied bow ties at least have a metal clasp at the end where I can hook both clasps together for a lock. However, only one end of this bow tie has the metal clasp. The other end is this loop in the ribbon that I need to slip over that metal clasp, which makes it a bit hard to use and plus doesn't give me that "quality" feel.All in all, it's a pretty print and a nice investment if you don't know how to tie a bow tie and want a clip on of sorts. But if you've experienced the world of self-ties, then I'd definitely recommend looking elsewhere (e.g., The Ellis Tie Co. which also has an Amazon store by the way!)

Great thick, quality tweed material that's not too 'fury'. I good blaned between 'fur' and 'smooth' as I like to term it. Good clean form which looks like an actual tied material. The tie comes with the elasticated band and hook and it's then adjusted to hug the neck. Goes great with a white shirt and both dark and light waistcoats and jackets. Recommeneded!
