My Favourite Bible Stories: A dynamic and child-friendly collection of biblical stories

What can I say about My Favourite Bible Stories! An absolute Masterpiece! The illustrations of black Jesus and black apostles, angels and Mary and Joseph are stunning and made me feel so represented. The stories are well written with a sense of fun and adventure. I particularly liked what I call the reflective Selah (pause and think about it) moments, where the reader is encouraged to Have a think, Have a go and Have a pray. These selah moments allow you to really stop and think about the story you have just read! Encouraging reflective bible reading for little ones! I ordered this one for my predominantly black catholic primary school where I work, and will now be ordering another in case I have children of my own one day! Thank you Sarah Fletcher and Kelly-Jade Nicholls for this incredible children’s bible story!! A breath of fresh air and a wonderful read!!

We were given “My Favourite Bible Stories” as a gift and it defiantly has become a favourite! My 8-year-old daughter has found it especially engaging and, having grown up in a very multicultural area, she immediately noticed that all the art work depicts the various Bible characters as being black or ethnic minority. She thinks that is fantastic. Additionally, all the stories are all beautifully written and each has a thoughtful reflection, suggested art and crafts activity to try and a simple prayer at the end. All in all, there is so much to this book that makes it stand out. I cannot recommend it enough either as a gift for others or for your own family.

I was specifically looked for people of colour so as not to create an unhealthy image for my children about the Bible. That’s what I got!The pages are thick and off great quality.It has prayers and things to think about and talk about at the end of each story.I would highly recommend.

Fantastic product, my children really enjoy reading this book. The pictures are amazing, full of detail and closely accurate to Israel and Egypt at that time in comparison to some of the illustrations I have seen in the past.

This children bible is perfect for young children introducing them to the bible stories. Bought it for my granddaughter and niece both 2yrs and they both love the colourful stories. Well written and really nice to see the pictures with black people in a bible.

Beautifully constructed book. Colours, illustrations are omg. The book is hardcover, well bound, and heavy! Lively pray and summary at the ebd of each chapter. Great table of contents with picture guide. Playful use of text sizes and shapes. My 7year old loved it!

Perfect!I am always mindful of representation in stories but especially in bible stories.Futhermore, the stories are well adapted for children to read, discuss and enjoy.
