Worked well for my external fuel tank instal
I have been driving around in a 1971 W200 dodge truck with no fuel gage, it gets horrendous fuel mileage and was driving me crazy, I just found a 29gal marine tank and installed it today. The flange fit the tank perfectly, it takes a bit of finagling to get the float in, but the instructions where very clear for installation and the adjustments needed to fit your particular tank. I spent considerable time prepping the tank and where it was located. The gage ( I purchased the Bosch one) will not work with just the sender alone hooked up you have too and should ground the tank ( I ran mine to the frame) Im so stoked to have an accurate level of measurement in the old girl.

Works good.
Replaced the sender in my MF285. Not 5 stars because of a slight inaccuracy.

This is a great universal sending unit
I have to laugh at those that give universal sending units a bad review. Of course universal means you might have to do some modifications according to the tank. This unit is replacing a sending unit in my 1985 Mack MS250P Mid Liner, with a 75 gallon tank and 1 million miles. It was almost perfect, and after some adjustments, it is perfect. I really don't care about the in between calibration. I wanted to know when it was full and when it was empty. A mechanically fuel injected diesel run out of fuel is a lot of trouble. Mechanical fuel injectors do not pump air worth two cents. Every one knows that. This sending unit is the answer, especially when the part is obsolete. Its perfect. Anyone that cannot modify the install needs to hire it done. There you go. Great product and the price is right. S

Unreliable Construction
After about six months of use, the float arm weld broke, causing the gauge to give a false “full” reading. When I removed the unit, I found the float arm at the bottom of the tank. I ordered a replacement, thinking it was a one-off defect, but the new unit arrived already broken in the same spot. The weld holding the float arm is extremely small and weak, making this design unreliable.

Works with 1965 Volkswagen Bus
Installed this on a 1965 Volkswagen bus. The height was a little too long, even after adjustment but it was easy to cut off the excess length with a grinder. Make sure you bench test the float length before you install it. I found that their suggested measurements were not correct and caused the gauge to not go all the way to full or empty. It's an easy thing to test and adjust. Works great once installed.

Good instructions to match transducer to tank depth.
Once installed it works well. However after adjusting the float rod length and tightening the coupling bracket that is tack welded to the sensing rod the tack weld failed. To finish installation it was necessary to salvage the coupling bracket from the old sensor that didn’t need or use a tack weld. While instructions for adjusting the float rod and transducer bracket are well written, there are no instructions about where to connect the power and ground leads. Not a major delay if one is experienced at replacing tank level sensors. As others have mentioned the five mounting holes on the transducer and bracket are asymmetrical, and only fit one way to line up all the holes. It would help others to have that mentioned in the instructions.

Universal means you adapt it to you're application
The product is very easy to adapt and modify. The chart that comes in the instructions give clear and specific measurements to trim the critical parts down to for any given tank depth in the ranges this sender was meant to satisfy. This is a very easy sender to install. Anyone leaving negative reviews saying it doesnt fit either has a deeper tank or is not mechanically inclined enough to understand how to trim a bracket or adjust a rod length and tighten set screws. Great value and a great product. I am happy with it.

good quality for the price, wish gasket fit better
I used this to replace the sending unit on a MF 265 tractor. The ohm range of 33 to 240 was correct for this application. The unit is pretty flexible as to its physical configuration. I had to remove the extension to get it to fit in the tank which was 10.5 inches deep. This was easy to do as it is only held on by screws, but the instructions failed to mention that for some applications the extension could be removed. As is typical (by design) of sending units the 5 attachment screw holes are NOT evenly spaced. Unfortunately the holes in the gasket did not line up with the holes in the unit, and I tried all permutations available, including flipping it over. Also because the holes are not evenly spaced, there is only one way to mount the units flange. You can take off the top nut and spin the bracket 180 degrees in relationship to the flange because of the plastic insert that is round with two flats. Unfortunately for me I needed to rotate the unit 90 degrees. If the plastic insert (between the flange and the bracket) were square it would have been very easy. I would give it 5 stars but deducted one for the ill-fitting gasket and the engineering failure to allow rotating the unit in 90 degree increments.
